S2 Ep38: Doctor Who Podcast Discusses Sonic Screwdriver
10/12/2011 Duración: 53minIt's a Christian-free zone in the latest Kasterborous podKast (with a "K") as our great leader makes plans to continue the expansion of our noble Doctor Who website. As a result, this will be the final podKast until the week following The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe, but fear not as this week's podKast features Brian A Terranova and James McLean discussing the sonic screwdriver and its impact and place in Doctor Who lore. From humble beginnings in 1968's Fury from the Deep to its modern-day place as a Tricorder-like device, James and Brian discuss the way in which the device is used, has been brought in and out of the Doctor's box of tricks over the years and pick favourite sonic screwdriver moments.

S2 Ep36: Will Harry Potter's David Yates Produce a Doctor Who Movie?
26/11/2011 Duración: 42minA little later than intended, the latest Kasterborous podKast (with a "K") features Brian Terranova, James McLean and editor Christian Cawley discussing the recent events in the Doctor Who universe, notably the Christmas episode title reveal and trailer from the Children in Need event last week.Of course, we had to have a chat about harry Potter director David Yates' supposed Doctor Who movie project, a topic which we suspect will run and run over the next few months.Whether The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe is a good title or not doesn't really come into it - we're more interested in the inclusion of heavy Christmas trappings for a second time. While Russell T Davies' Doctor Who tended to place Christmas in a more day-to-day context, Steven Moffat seems to place a greater emphasis on the traditional western view of snow, ice, hot fires, dark, creepy rooms, celebration and feast. You can find out just what we think and hope for via this player:

20/11/2011 Duración: 53minThis week's podKast (with a "K") brings the conversation around to the TARDIS, as Christian and James discuss the magic behind the Doctor's bigger-on-the-inside blue box, its various external configurations and the varying interior dimensions that it has enjoyed over the years.Meanwhile, Brian A. S2 Ep29: The Wedding of River Song Review
04/10/2011 Duración: 44minThis week's show is our much expected The Wedding of River Song review. What's the deal with eyepatch lady? Does the trailer give away too much or not enough? The great thing about Doctor Who is that there isn't a single story that is completely, 100% universally loved. With fans being very opinionated about what makes "great" Doctor Who, it is only right that we should get a podKast (with a "K") that features three very different attitudes...So join Christian Cawley, Brian A Terranova and James McLean as they discuss the Series 6 finale, The Wedding of River Song, how much of it made sense, whether there was really a wedding in it and just what the attraction is for the Doctor when it comes to humans...Meanwhile, we also praise the wonderful tribute to Nicholas Courtney, observe some initial similarities between the opening moments of The Wedding of River Song and the Time Leech comic strip and provide a brief preview of next week's podKastIt's Your Turn: Review US!We need your reviews! Doctor Who: Closing Time Reviewed
30/09/2011 Duración: 44minSo, why did Craig take little Alfie with him to the department store when he knew that Cybermen were stomping around? How did that huge Cyber-chestplate fail to fit the stocky young father, and just why don't Cybermen live up their names and actually try conquering Earth via the Internet (as opposed to "earpods")?Christian, Brian and James discuss Closing Time in-depth this week, with particular attention played to Stormaggedon, Dark Lord of All, Cybermen, and somehow we even got onto the Doctor's age...Our weekly Kasterborous podKast (with a "K") continues with analysis of the penultimate episode of Doctor Who Series 6 and some speculation about the finale, The Wedding of River Song.We would hope that our listener recalls that we have different options for listening. If you’ve enjoyed the show, please head to Apple Podcasts to leave a rating and review. 01/09/2011 Duración: 37minThis week James McLean and Brian Terranova discussing the brand new Doctor Who episode Let's Kill Hitler. You'll find both sides of the argument here - James wasn't impressed with the episode and the ongoing River Song story, while Brian loved it. Interesting how a show like Doctor Who can be so divisive, isn't it?They also chat about the Torchwood: Miracle Day episode Immortal Sins, in which we get an interesting insight into Jack's past, much like a classic Torchwood episode...Remember, if you enjoy the show, find us on Apple Podcasts, where your reviews will help the show considerably. 22/07/2011 Duración: 35minChristian Cawley and James McLean discuss Torchwood: Miracle Day episode 1 The New World from a UK perspective as well as other Torchwood subjects, such as: Is Torchwood still part of the Whoniverse? S2 Ep15: Differences Between RTD and Moffat Doctor Who Eras
30/06/2011 Duración: 34minIn this week's show, we take look at the difference between Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat's approach to Doctor Who. What separates these eras?Taking a week off from the podKast (with a "K"), I was delighted to find that Brian and the other chap (James McLean, who else?) had done such a good job that I'm currently contemplating retirement! After all, what is a chap to do when his two subordinates are getting along very well without him? Sit back, I say, and let them get on with it. This time around, the discussion covers Torchwood scheduling, and some interesting views about the differences and similarities between the Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat Doctor Who eras.Unsurprisingly, you will find nothing at all about Winnie the Pooh, Edgar Rice Burroughs or Voltaire, but of course, this is a Doctor Who podKast (with a "K"), so what do you expect...?Enjoy the show? S2 Ep14: Doctor Who TV Movie: Dated, X-Files ripoff, or better than that?
22/06/2011 Duración: 35minBack in 1996, the Doctor Who TV Movie struck TV screens on both sides of the Atlantic. At home it was a hit; in the USA, it was ignored. Now, 15 years later, we ask: has the Paul McGann-starring TV Movie dated badly? This week's podcast features Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian A Terranova discussing this in depth, while also taking a look at original design for Nephew in Neil Gaiman's The Doctor's Wife, and just what Danny Cohen thought he was playing at with his recent discussion about Doctor Who at the Church and Media conference. Here are a few quotes. On the matter of the Doctor Who TV Movie:"It did feel as though there were bits of The X Files in there but that the script and the tone of the show hadn't actually caught up with where The X Files was at that time."There is plenty to say on this, despite the episode being so old, and the era it represented failing to materialise. Christian and Brian are both massive fans of Paul McGann's performance in the Doctor Who TV Movie, making this a particular

20: Did The Also People finish off the story -- or start it?
01/06/2011 Duración: 36minIt's podKast (with a "K") time again, and this week James McLean, Brian Terranova and Christian Cawley mull over the events of The Almost People, in particular THAT cliffhanger and speculate on how A Good Man Goes to War might play out... In addition, we have a chat about the issue of spoilers, and just when it is safe for a fan to go online, what sites to go to, etc., in order to avoid spoilers. We wonder if a "fascist spoilerphobia" has been borne out of Steven Moffat's recent (and unrelated) dismissal of the people who shared plot spoilers with the rest of the world following the preview screenings for The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon. We always want to hear from our listeners, and will address any comments that you have, so feel free to leave your thoughts below! Terranova and Christian Cawley get together to discuss the week's happening's in the PodKast (with a "K")! We also discuss Matthew Graham's previous story, Fear Her. 18: Is The Doctor's Wife an instant Neil Gaiman classic?
18/05/2011 Duración: 36minThis week's podKast (with a "K") features Christian Cawley and James McLean (and improved sound quality!) discussing the wonderful episode The Doctor's Wife as only they can, as well as the recent Torchwood: Miracle Day teaser trailer and a couple of Dalek-related book releases! There is little criticism that can be levelled at The Doctor's Wife, but Torchwood is a different matter, so fans of the first two series of the out-of-control alien-sh*gging drama should probably avoid this section. However if you have £30 burning a hole in your pocket and like Daleks, The Dalek Handbook and The Man Who Invented the Daleks: The Strange Worlds of Terry Nation are both featured this week.

17: The Curse of the Black Spot, Lis Sladen, and audience figures
13/05/2011 Duración: 39minA little later than planned, it's time for the Kasterborous podKast with a K to cast its eye on last week's Curse of the Black Spot, as well as look forward to Neil Gaiman's The Doctor's Wife and even chat about the BBC Four tribute to the late Elisabeth Sladen this week in the shape of The Hand of Fear. Joining me this time are Brian A Terranova and Patrick Riley. Things went a little crazy this week; the slightly reduced sound quality can be explained away by the fact that we were in fact podcasting from 1976, for reasons that will become clear... We also chat about the recent controversy (or should that be storm in a teacup) concerning Doctor Who audience figures and the machinations of various printed organs to bash the series.

15: The Impossible Astronaut reviewed
27/04/2011 Duración: 32minWelcome, ladies and gentlemen, to this week's Doctor Who podcast, which features Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian A Terranova! The Kasterborous podKast team will be discussing, of course, The Impossible Astronaut and the various thoughts, impressions and ideas they got from the first episode of Doctor Who Series 6, in a wide-ranging discussion that takes in more than just a few observations about the Doctor's apparent death at the beginning of the episode. We also chat about various other related matters, and we reckon you will find this to be a fascinating discussion of The Impossible Astronaut. Oh, and look out for Christian Cawley's rant to the BBC One schedulers concerning the Scare the Hare/Doctor Who/So You Think You Can Dance scheduling. Let us know what you think!
