They're called "psychotropic drugs" - drugs that affect a person's mind, emotions, and behavior and are prescribed to treat mental illness. Nationally, the use of these drugs has steadily increased in children of all ages, including pre-schoolers. What are the long-term effects of these drugs in young people? Why are they used so often?
