SUMMARY The message of the "wisdom literature" in the Bible (Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes) is to avoid being foolish and make wise decisions. As the "CEO" of our own lives, we are tasked with making difficult decisions based on an uncertain future, just like a company CEO. Proverbs provide general principles of wisdom to guide us, but we should not get stuck in the "but what about" mentality that tries to find exceptions. Wise people have a bias towards safety and caution, while fools make rash decisions that can ruin their reputation and legacy. There will always be obstacles and unfair situations in life, but we should not use that as an excuse for laziness or inaction.
