THE KELLY CARDENAS PODCAST PRESENTS A generation of country music fans might call Lance Smith the "face of CMT". A Nashville native, Smith spent his early adulthood pursuing an acting career. However, in early 2000 a unique job opportunity on one of the highest grossing music tours in the country showed Lance another side of the entertainment business that ended up being the right fit. As an emcee of the Dixie Chicks’ Fly tour, Lance performed in front of an average of 15,000 people a night, for 92 shows across the country. The experience caught the attention of executives at VIACOM and CMT, eventually making Lance Smith a household name with the country music audience. Ten years later, with over a thousand shows hosted and hundreds of celebrities interviewed, Lance parted ways with CMT to expand his talents into new venues.
