After graduating in 1999, they headed to opposite coasts: Vyas took a position as a support scientist for NASA in Silicon Valley while Chipman worked in Boston as an acute care physical therapist. After visiting St. John on vacation, Mr. Chipman decided to relocate to the island in 2001 and convinced his friend Mr. Vyas to join him. After working a few years in the local restaurant industry, Mr. Vyas and Mr. Chipman established St. John Brewers in 2004 with the launch of their first beer, Tropical Mango Pale Ale.
