Acts 12:1-25 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Have you ever felt the pressure of spiritual opposition? Have you ever experienced pushback from the world in your attempts to please God? Well, the early church knew what that was like. In Acts 12, James is martyred, and Peter is imprisoned. Herod the king initiated a violent persecution against believers and things quickly became dark and dangerous. Amidst all the trials however, the church persevered in prayer. They called out to the One who could deliver them. And in a miraculous turn of events, Peter was freed, and Herod was struck down. No will could outwill God’s will to glorify himself. So, the word of God increased and multiplied. May the Lord use this text to bolster our trust in God and remind us of the power of prayer.
