Paul writes the letter to the Philippian church while chained to guards in Rome. He reminds the Philippians how to find joy even in difficult circumstances. He will demonstrate that with the right definition of life (“to live is Christ”), any circumstance can be transformed by God into something meaningful. Like an alchemist turning lead to gold, God uses our trials both for His glory and our spiritual growth.
