He became the first person to hold the British, English & European Title at the same time. He retired from competitive Karate in May 2000, I finally decided to retire from competing in karate as a Triple World Medallist. But that was just the end of one chapter as he then went on to train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, training under Rick Young and Braulio Estima, earning his black belt from the latter.
