Return Without Restoration

Informações:

Sinopsis

Return without repentance is not restoration, it is the quiet beginning of greater judgment. In this passage, David allows Absalom to return, yet without truth, without justice, and without any evidence of repentance. What appears to be peace is only surface deep, and beneath it lies a growing fracture that will soon erupt. This sermon walks through the manipulation of Joab, the weakness of David, and the emptiness of reconciliation that is not grounded in God's Word. It presses the weight of this truth upon the hearer, that real restoration is never achieved by human wisdom, emotional persuasion, or outward gestures. It comes only through repentance, through the convicting power of God's Word, and through His mercy. The warning is clear. When sin is not dealt with rightly, it does not disappear. It grows. And when restoration is attempted without repentance, it prepares the ground for greater destruction. Worship with us at Reformation OPC Gastonia!
