A Son’s Treason

Sinopsis

A Son's Treason takes us into 2 Samuel 15, where the rebellion of Absalom unfolds, and the consequences of sin within David's house become unmistakably clear. What begins as subtle manipulation turns into full betrayal as Absalom steals the hearts of Israel and rises against his own father. This sermon traces the deeper issue beneath the narrative, the danger of wicked counsel, the corruption of the human heart, and the ease with which people are drawn away from truth by charm and persuasion. At the same time, it presents David as a humbled king who entrusts himself to the Lord, refusing to manipulate God while still acting with wisdom. Ultimately, this message points forward to Christ, the true King who was also betrayed, yet whose kingdom cannot be overthrown. It calls the listener to reject rebellion, pursue righteousness, and rest in the sovereign purposes of God who brings down the wicked and preserves His people.
