Today, we are talking about the Gospel of John. It doesn't begin with any details about the actual birth of Jesus; it begins with a very complicated, philosophical introductory passage about Jesus and tells us a great deal about "why" Jesus was born in the first place. It tells us that Jesus was born: To bring light into our dark world. So that he could introduce us to his good Father. To bring an end to our loneliness and isolation.
