The Bible tells us that _...God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ..." (2 Cor. 5:19). The word reconcile infers that at one point we had a connection with God which was lost. True peace comes when we reconnect with God through Jesus' death and resurrection. As Augustine said: "We are made for You O God and our hearts are restless until they have found their rest in You."
