This is the prayer to the ten forms of Lord Vishnu (Dashavataras)The ten avatars of Vishnu are: Matsya (fish), Kurma (Tortoise), Varaha (Boar), Narasimha (Half Lion and Half Man),Vaman (The dwarf ), Parashuram, Ram, Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki. It is said that Lord Vishnu took ten Avataars on Earth to destroy evils and bring peace and prosperity on earth. The first four avatars (Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha) appeared in Satya Yuga, the next three in Treta Yuga (Vaman, Parashuram)the next two in Dwapar Yug (Krishna, Buddha) and the Tenth in Kal Yug (Kalki).
