After all, he played an important part in getting me started in life, even if I didn’t see him much. I remember the sweet smell of Old Spice mixed with the sweat of a laborer who worked in the woods, log ponds, and plywood mills of Oregon to feed us, clothe us, and keep us warm and dry.
