In today’s broken world - many things threaten to hold us captive and keep us from living an abundant life of faith. God can sometimes seem distant or absent. In the Old Testament book of Daniel, we read about a young man of faith who was held hostage for 70 years in an evil empire that seemed completely devoid of God. His story encourages us and demonstrates how choosing trust, faith, humility, wisdom, and hope can help us not just survive, but thrive in a broken world. By choosing this path of faithfulness to God, Daniel revealed practical ways of shining Jesus’ light and blessing our broken world.
