Artifice

Ryan Margetts is a Utah-based cinematographer, director, and writer. Despite having a love and passion for filmmaking since childhood, when he would often write short stories and gather his friends to act in his short films and music videos, Ryan began his career in film later than expected. Taking a leap and changing careers from the healthcare industry to filmmaking in 2019, Ryan knew he had found his calling in life. He started Tiger Trap Media, his freelance film production company, and began writing and producing original short films, music videos, and commercial content as a way of practicing and learning his craft. The first of which, "Seconds," went on to win multiple short film competitions and festivals. His original work since then has received recognition from international short film competitions, film festivals, and a growing online audience. Ryan has worked as a PA, grip, gaffer, and second unit director for commercial campaigns and feature films, and will be the Director of Photography f
