AE 1157 - The Goss: Got a Tattoo? You Can't Come in!

Sinopsis

Welcome to another Goss episode here on the Aussie English podcast! I found this online article about restaurants in Queensland banning people from entering their establishments if they have facial or neck tattoos. It sort of triggers Australians as people start to take sides. Some say that it’s good to have the ban because people find such tattoos offensive, while others rave that there shouldn’t be discrimination because these are paying customers. So, where do we draw the line on having visible body tattoos? What if it’s a Michelin-starred restaurant, a client makes a reservation, and turns up at the place with tattoos all over? Would they run the client off? We wonder if they associated having tattoos with violent bikie gangs. But we all know not all tattooed people are nutters. How can someone tell?
