Twelve years ago I graduated from the prestigious film program at Brigham Young University and began my career in filmmaking. At different times over the years I’ve had unique love affairs with each aspect of the filmmaking process—I’ve been a DP, a producer, an editor—I’ve played various roles in ideating and executing fiction narratives; and I’ve traveled to many countries as a documentarian. Although the skill sets and disciplines have varied, the common thread that binds them all together is passion—I just love film—that’s my foundation. I’m grateful for my various roles in the industry, because they’ve given me the one thing that foundations should offer—a solid place to launch from. Throughout my filmmaking journey I held a secret—although I was incredibly comfortable behind the camera (and was making a good career out of it)—where I really wanted to be was in front of the camera, metabolizing scripts, taking the words of another and bringing them to life in a way that impacts people the way I’
