Podcast Aldrich

Dalton and Ben are both Econ students at Penn State. We are deeply concerned about coronavirus that is going on lately. In this podcast episode, we would dive in and talk about the economic effect of the virus and how people are responding it around the world. Afterwards we go on tangent and discuss about steroid use in bodybuilding and other sports.  

Alex Vandenburg majors in biology and minors in psychology. In this summer of 2019, he is working with the Penn State football's social media team and shooting photos for the Penn State football players. In this podcast episode, Alex would tell us his experience of being the photographer in vivid details. He will tell us about how he got the job, those football player's training schedule, Penn State football team has the largest cash flow in the Penn State athletic department, NFL (National Football League) stands for "Not for long", football players have their own protein shakes designed for them, putting salt on watermelons, how he helps others take graduation pictures, Rule of Thirds in photography, and photography is all about tricking people's eyes. 

Anikate Ganju is a data science and sociology major at Penn State University. He was on Podcast Aldrich couple months ago. Check out episode #7 for our previous conversation. In this episode, Aldrich and Anikate will be talking about modern dating and marriages, traditional Indian wedding, should you marry late or early, adoption, what life was like before cell phones, immigration, diversity, entrepreneurship, and knowing your own limit. 

Naira Batoyan is a graduating senior who studies Economics at Penn State University. She comes from an Armenian family and lives in Moscow, Russia since a young age. In this podcast, Naira and Aldrich will be discussing about Russia's climate, food, and culture. Alex Urban is a Physics major at Penn State and also participates in Air Force ROTC. He is one of the most motivated people I know. Since Alex is about to graduate soon from Penn State, he will be sharing some tips for staying motivated and valuing opportunities in college. In this podcast, we will be touching on time management and having growth mindset as well. 

Akash Samad is an old friend of mine. He is a Bangladeshi American. In this podcast, he shares his life story and opinions about arranged marriage, parental pressure, relationships, family responsibilities, and Bangladeshi culture.  

Anikate is in the Penn State Car Club. In this podcast episode, Aldrich and Anikate talk about cars, culture in the Penn State Car Club, diversity issues in college, and Penn State THON. Anikate will come back soon and talk about his views on immigration issues in the U.S. and his personal stories more in detail.  

Matt is in ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps.) army branch. Aldrich and Matt talk about Matt's inspiration to start his ROTC journey, the benefits & responsibilities that come with ROTC, how ROTC shapes Matt's life, ROTC stereotypes & misconceptions, social life while doing ROTC, and the ranking in Army.  

Aldrich and Brad talk about the practicality of learning philosophy, pessimistic & optimistic world view, social media and clout culture's influence in the current society and effects on our social interactions, why we feel lonely, negative consequences of diversity, social norms & social standards, finding common ground with others, importance of self-reflection, and setting goals & achieving goals.

Daniel Wong returned! This time Aldrich and Daniel talk about Daniel's experience of him studying in a boarding school in Virginia, the concept "fun is relative", reading books, having crazy dreams, how we perceive ourselves in our own brain(ideas from the book Thinking, Fast and Slow), "Life is not about length. It's about intensity.", "Why fit in if you want to stand out?", globalization, how history relates to our lives, AI, 5G, and early civilization.
