20 Years Of Nitro

As we begin to head towards Starrcade Randy Savage's reign as a fighting champion is heating up as he defends the WCW Heavyweight Championship against Lex Luger. Elsewhere The Giant locks up against Scott Norton, Harlem Heat face The American Males, and Heenan tries his hand at prop comedy.

It's the night after the World War 3 PPV and new champion Randy Savage's reign is already mired in controversy. In fact, the treatment of the Macho Man in this episode drives Dave and Tim to the breaking point. The ladies of All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling put on the first women's match in Nitro history, Sting and Luger take on Arn Anderson and Brian Pillman, and DDP tries to regain the television title against Johnny B. Badd.

Nitro goes for broke this week as Hulk Hogan and Sting face off for the first time in history. There's also a lot of resolution to storylines we haven't seen in months as The Shark takes on Scott Norton and Road Warrior Hawk squares off against Big Bubba Rogers. This week The Shark tries to take a bite out of Sting's United States Championship, Mr. JL tries to make an impact in his WCW debut, Disco Inferno tries get Road Warrior Hawk to dance, Sting tries his hand at mediation between Macho Man and Lex Luger, and the Chicago crowd tries to end Hulkamania with the power of their boos.

The October 2nd 1995 Nitro features a double main event as Lex Luger puts his future title shot and his WCW career on the line against Macho Man and The Nature Boy Ric Flair takes on The Enforcer Arn Anderson in a matchup of former Horsemen. Also Dean Malenko and Eddie Guerrero square off in exciting cruiserweight action and a little old lady beats up Hulk Hogan with her cane. Wait, what?

This week sees the Nitro Debut of the Disco Inferno, the poor negotiation skills of Lex Luger, Randy Savage takes on the Taskmaster, Kurasawa fights Sgt. Craig Pittman and much more!
