  • The Gospel Must Be Preached

    16/02/2025 Duración: 53min

Acts 14 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - In Acts 14 we read final installment of Paul’s first missionary journey. He visits more cities, stops in some synagogues, and shares the gospel with various people. Along the way he’s driven out of town, receives death threats, and is pummeled with stones because of his gospel ministry. But at the end of the day, Paul felt compelled to preach the good news even if it caused division, even if the audiences were varied, all so that churches could be established. In the wake of Paul’s travels were new communities of faith, new bodies of believers assembling in the name of Jesus bearing witness to his great salvation. Now, we can give our lives to a great many things, but what could be more worthwhile than giving ourselves to Christ’s body the church? May the Lord extend his name and fame through us!

Deuteronomy 6:4-7 - Speaker: Josh MacAvoy - Many parents want to instill positive character in their children. But as Christians, our goal should be in developing character that is shaped by God and His Word. • Foundations for Christian Parenting

    02/02/2025 Duración: 31min

Deuteronomy 6:4-9 - Speaker: Will Galkin - Parenting is all of grace. We need to start with the foundational concepts that children are a blessing, a responsibility, and an opportunity. They are a gift from God (Psalm 127:3-5) and should be nurtured with gratitude. Parents have the responsibility to disciple their children in God’s truth (Ephesians 6:4) and integrate faith into daily life (Deuteronomy 6:4-9). Ultimately, parenting is an opportunity for gospel impact, raising disciples who will love and follow Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). Through faith, discipline, and reliance on God’s grace, parents shape their children’s hearts for His kingdom.

  • Biblical Missions

    02/02/2025 Duración: 59min

Acts 13 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - The gospel spread from Jerusalem to Judea, Samaria, and by Acts 13, it was beginning to extend to the “ends of the earth.” When persecution scattered the Christian community, people witnessed about Jesus, the exalted Lord. At first, the message was just to the Jews, but then it spread to Gentiles. The beautiful result was the first multi-ethnic church in Syrian Antioch. Barnabas was sent to see what God was doing, and while he ministered in Antioch, more and more were saved. The power of God’s word produced such a harvest, that Barnabas went and got help from Saul. The two of them became teachers in the church… that is, until the Holy Spirit called them to missionary service. The Spirit set them apart, the church sent them out, and soon the gospel was spreading to Cyprus, Antioch of Pisidia, and finally the region of Galatia. Acts 13 recounts Paul’s first missionary journey and helps us understand key principles associated with the spread of the gospel around the world. M

  • He Sees, Hears, and Delivers

    26/01/2025 Duración: 54min

Acts 12:1-25 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Have you ever felt the pressure of spiritual opposition? Have you ever experienced pushback from the world in your attempts to please God? Well, the early church knew what that was like. In Acts 12, James is martyred, and Peter is imprisoned. Herod the king initiated a violent persecution against believers and things quickly became dark and dangerous. Amidst all the trials however, the church persevered in prayer. They called out to the One who could deliver them. And in a miraculous turn of events, Peter was freed, and Herod was struck down. No will could outwill God’s will to glorify himself. So, the word of God increased and multiplied. May the Lord use this text to bolster our trust in God and remind us of the power of prayer.

  • Gospel Advance Through Gospel Unity

    19/01/2025 Duración: 49min

Acts 11 - Speaker: Josh MacAvoy - As the early church grew in number and spread to new cities, there was an opportunity for great rejoicing but also great criticism. People who used to never interact, had generational hatred and deep suspicion towards each other are joining the same faith. Now they are being called to worship and work together. And this fertile soil for gospel growth is also a space for potential criticism, isolation and suspicion. But if criticism and factions are allowed to grow in the fledgling church, it will have a disastrous effect. Disunity amongst believers will get in the way of God’s great rescue plan and His mission to make one new people of faith. So, what is needed? Gospel Unity. And in Acts 11, we find the early church being called to that very thing. Through His Word and by His Spirit, God is calling His people to hold tightly to the Gospel and not anything else. Read Acts 11 in preparation for our time together tomorrow.

  • Jesus' Power

    12/01/2025 Duración: 57min

Acts 9:32-10:48 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Now as Peter went here and there among them all, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda. There he found a man named Aeneas, bedridden for eight years, who was paralyzed. And Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; rise and make your bed." And immediately he rose. And all the residents of Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord. Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas. She was full of good works and acts of charity. In those days she became ill and died, and when they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room. Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him, "Please come to us without delay." So Peter rose and went with them. And when he arrived, they took him to the upper room. All the widows stood beside him weeping and showing tunics and other garments that Dorcas made while she was with them. But Peter put them all outside

  • The Steadfast Love of God

    29/12/2024 Duración: 31min

Psalm 107 - Speaker: Will Galkin - Psalm 107 is a hymn of thanksgiving that celebrates God’s steadfast love and deliverance of His people. It begins with a call to give thanks to the Lord for His goodness and faithfulness, particularly His redeeming work for those in distress. The psalm presents four scenarios where people experience calamity—wandering in the desert, imprisonment in darkness, suffering from sin’s consequences, and being overwhelmed by storms—and highlights God’s response to their cries for help. The Lord delivers them in each case, demonstrating His power, mercy, and covenant love. The psalm concludes by emphasizing God’s sovereignty over creation and human affairs, His humbling the proud and raising up the needy. It calls the wise to reflect on these works of steadfast love and to respond with gratitude and praise for the God who redeems and restores.

  • The Hope of Christmas

    22/12/2024 Duración: 35min

Micah 5:1-5 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Micah is a hard prophet to understand because the book alternates back and forth between threats of doom and promises of hope. It is hard to figure out what situations he is referring to and how the hope and doom relate to each other. Probably the reason the book is arranged like this is to make the point that where God and his people are concerned, there is always hope, even in the darkest catastrophe. So, Micah mingles gloom and glory through his book. This weekend as we look at Micah 5, we will start with the gloom of Assyria’s threats. For the faithful remnant holed up in Jerusalem during Sennacherib’s siege, all seemed lost. But the prophet rallies the people to hope in a coming Messiah, a Deliverer who would rescue them from their enemies. The hope of this Messiah is our theme for this final week of Advent. May the anticipation of our Deliverer encourage our hearts.

  • Good News of Great Joy

    15/12/2024 Duración: 54min

Luke 2:8-14 - Speaker: Jon Kopp - Luke 2 is one of the most familiar Christmas passages in our Bible, and in it we find more than the cold facts of Jesus’ birth. Instead, we find the heartwarming message of God’s grace and love towards His people. In today’s text, an angel surrounded by the glory of God appears to a group of shepherds outside Bethlehem. The shepherds immediately are filled with great fear. But, the angel does not come with a message of fear. Instead, he proclaims good news of great joy that can drive out not only their great fear, but ours as well. Christmas is a story of great joy that can drive out our great fear.

  • Ascribe Glory to the Lord

    08/12/2024 Duración: 37min

Psalm 29 - Speaker: Jotham Manoranjan - This Sunday we will be dwelling on Psalm 29. The psalm, using the imagery of a storm, reveals to us the power of God, and makes known to us the kingship of God over the whole earth. In response, heavenly beings and humanity are called to bow down in worship. This God, however, is not only a God of great power, but also a God who is near and dear to his people as he gives them peace. As we study this psalm we are struck by the contrast of power and peace; in the midst of this contrast, we will find comfort in God.

  • Conversion

    01/12/2024 Duración: 56min

Acts 9:1-31 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - In Acts 9, Saul, the persecutor of the Christian church, is transformed into a powerful witness for Christ. This is the account of Saul’s conversion. He goes from a desperate situation of rejecting the Messiah, to a gracious intervention whereby Jesus reveals himself on the road to Damascus and totally transforms Saul’s life. The beauty of this passage is that reminds us of Christ’s miraculous work in salvation. It encourages us to continue witnessing for Jesus because there is no one beyond his saving power. May the Lord strengthen our hearts in the gospel – it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes!

  • Outsides & Outcasts

    24/11/2024 Duración: 01h02min

Acts 8:1-40 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - We think so much about the missionary journeys of Paul, but did you know that Philip had some missionary journeys as well? Acts 8 talks about some of the gospel work this faithful deacon and evangelist was involved in. He preached to crowds in Samaria, and many came to Christ. But he also shared the good news with individuals like the Ethiopian eunuch. This weekend we’ll learn about God’s providence, his love, and his New Covenant community composed of people from every kindred, tribe, tongue, and nation. May all the peoples praise his name.

  • Sharing the Gospel

    17/11/2024 Duración: 32min

1 Corinthians 15:1-3 - Speaker: Jon Kopp - If you ask a group of self-professing Christians to share the essentials of the gospel message, you’ll likely get a myriad of answers. When pressed to define the core of what we believe about Jesus, some can drift into a mumble of spiritual sounding technicalities and nervous “Well...you knows.” Is this a problem? Is it important to accurately define the gospel? Yes. We believe it is. This study will explore understanding the gospel message, remembering the details of the gospel message, and providing ideas for sharing the gospel message.
