In this week's podcast Robert is joined by Giles Parkinson, founder and editor of The Driven, Australia's most-read online electric vehicle news site - and one of Robert's go to favourites. In their first proper catchup since 2019, Giles brings Robert fully up to speed with all that's been happening recently in Australia. Discussing topics like the new more eco-friendly Government, Teals, how the boom in rooftop solar is disrupting the Aussie energy industry, increasingly extreme weather events, and the growing demand for electric Utes! We also find out what Robert did when he experienced his first proper Australian rainstorm!!

In this week's podcast Robert is joined by Imogen Pierce, and they reach out to the Twitter audience to see what questions have been on their minds recently. Discussing topics like whether COP27 was a success or a disappointment, the proposed UK Road Tax measures for new EVs, grid flexibility, and cheap overnight on-street charging. They also cover the impact that wind, hydro and solar generation has had on our dependence on gas recently - it's BIG, Terawatt kinda big!!!

This week Robert speaks with Fastned co-founder Michiel Langezaal about their growing roll out of premium charging stations across Europe. With the aim to provide electric vehicle drivers with "the most welcoming charging experience", Michiel shares his insights and perspective on this fast growing and constantly developing essential piece of the electrification of transportation puzzle. Fastned is a Dutch company that owns and operates a network of over 200 EV charging stations in the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Switzerland. Fastned was co-founded back in 2012 by Michiel Langezaal and Bart Lubbers. The first British location was in Sunderland, Fastned now has stations in Oxford, Newcastle, London, Glasgow and more.

This week Robert is joined by his old mate Roger Atkins, and as you can imagine in their own very distinct style they discuss a wide range of news topics and interesting stories from around the world of electrification. This week Robert is joined by Andrew Mott (Planning Manager) and Mark Rowcroft (Development Director) from Exagen. As a company, Exagen take an integrated approach to pairing utility scale solar farms with co-located grid balancing battery storage solutions, but how practical is it to create new solar farms? Andrew and Mark talk through some of the challenges and successes they've experienced working with Government and local communities to deliver these large scale projects.

Paul Martin is a chemical engineer, with 30 years of experience  across the full breadth of the chemical process industry. Now heading up his own Spitfire Research Inc, he offers his expertise in chemical process development, the vetting of research, hydrogen, biofuels, electrification and decarbonization. 

Professor David Cebon has authored or co-authored more than 200 peer-reviewed papers on dynamic loads of heavy vehicles, road and bridge response and damage, asphalt micromechanics, weigh-in-motion, advanced suspension design, safety, productivity and energy consumption. In this episode, he hones in on Hydrogen and sets straight a few myths about its uses and cleanliness.

Helen Czerski is a British physicist and oceanographer and is a presenter on the Fully Charged Show. She has presented documentaries on a wide range of incredible subjects for both FC and the BBC. She is passionate about conveying the beauty and ingenuity of the physical world around us, and the perspective on the world that science provides.

After the amazing experience that was Fully Charged Live San Diego, Robert records a rant fueled solo podcast in his hotel room from across the pond. Robert talks about dams in British Columbia the Canadian show next year, ridiculous fracking the UK and Jacob Rees-Mogg's attitude towards climate change.

Jeni is the Director of Clean Transportation at San Diego Gas & Electric where she is responsible for developing, advocating and leading innovative program design and implementation in order to advance clean transportation as it supports California's clean energy policies and customer objectives.

Electrify America is installing more rapid chargers across the United States than you can poke a stick at. They currently have over 800 charging stations with around 3,500 individual chargers from 150 kW up to 350 kW. They are currently installing 4 new charging stations or hubs every week. This is a seriously rapid roll out. Electrify America have developed ways to reduce strain on local grids with their installation of multiple rapid chargers. Robert Barrosa is the Senior Director of Sales, Business Development & Marketing for Electrify America, and in this week's episode of the Fully Charged Show Podcast, he explains how this is being achieved and a little bit about the history of the funding that has made much of this expansion possible. In late 2016, the U.S. Justice Department fined VW $30 billion after the company was caught rigging two of its diesel engines to pass U.S. emissions tests. That figure included the funding new zero-emissions vehicle technology and in particular charging networks. Quit

Ben Sullins is a Youtuber, EV Reviewer and host of the 'Free The Data' Podcast. Ben Has also presented on The Fully Charged Show and will be appearing at Fully Charged LIVE North America in San Diego on the 10th and 11th of September. 

In 1988, Sandy Munro started his own consultancy, Munro & Associates specializing in lean design and tearing down automotive products to study and suggest improvements and innovations. The company now performs electric vehicle benchmarking and consults in the aerospace, defence and medical sectors. He also has a Youtube channel with over 300k subscribers which only started in 2020.   

Mark is a professor of civil and environmental engineering at Stanford University and director of its Atmosphere/Energy Program. He is also a co-founder of the non-profit, Solutions Project. His most recent book "100% Clean, Renewable Energy and Storage for Everything" is out and available now.  

Chelsea Sexton is a former Fully Charged presenter  and current employee of the United States government.  Chelsea Sexton has proven to be not only one of the most  passionate advocates for more responsible transportation  but also, perhaps one of the most prescient  people in the business.
