God is both our Creator and our Redeemer. His desire for us is that we bear Him much fruit of righteousness. In this lesson, we will discover that bearing fruit is our chief end as God's people, that we cannot do it on our own, and that the Lord Jesus Christ is our strength and hope to do so. Does the Lord promise to calm every storm or trial in our lives? We'll take a look at a story from Matthew 8 at a time Jesus' disciples had to learn this answer. Jesus does offer us a calm, but the calm He offers us is actually much more profound than calm waters in the physical realm. We have spent the last 4 weeks studying the Church and its value in our lives. And now it's time we take what we learned and put it into practice as we seek to scale the Summit of Christianity. We will use the illustration of climbing Mount Everest to hopefully inspire us to climb the biggest, boldest mountain to ever exist - being fully pleasing to our Lord Jesus. Jesus heals 10 lepers and only one returns back to give Jesus thanks for what He did. So we'll discuss Jesus' posing question "Where are the 9?". In many respects, the Christian life is a battle. And we all have one common enemy in that battle, the devil. This devil is doing all he can to destroy us, and so God (through 1 Peter 5:8-14) gives us some very important instructions for how to fight and win this battle against our spiritual foe. We all know in the movies that good eventually beats evil, but what about in the real world? Is it better to side with good in the face of evil? The reasons in favor of striving to do good are profound. We'll discuss from 1 Peter 3 why being on God's team, the good team is the only place we ever want to be. This world needs more good examples of our Lord Jesus. I pray it's a blessing to you!

Unfortunately, in our day and age, the role of wives and women has been grossly undervalued. The Lord wants us all to begin valuing the beautiful role of wives, because they are a precious gift from Him to husbands. The beauty, value and confidence of a godly wife will live on into eternity, and that is a beauty worth investing in. And as usual, the Lord Jesus is the reason and motivation to do so. Being born of God is special privilege, and sometimes we lose sight of how special it really is to be a citizen of Heaven. The Apostle Peter seeks to exhort us to live honorably and humbly upon this earth and make ourselves willing servants of God because of all we have waiting for us in Heaven, and even to simply represent God well upon this earth for Christ's sake.
