Here is a special podcast presentation for the 60th anniversary of JFK's assassination. From 2003- Cathy Trost, author and editor of "President Kennedy has been shot: Experience the moment-to-moment account of the four days that changed America." The book includes a companion CD with audio recordings, many of which had never been heard by the public.

From 2010- Ellen Fitzgerald, author and editor of "Letters to Jackie: Condolences from a Grieving Nation." Fitzgerald was able to examine thousands of the letters and cards that Mrs. Kennedy received after her husband's assassination. Excerpts from 250 of them are part of this moving book. (An excerpt from this interview was part of today's Morning Show broadcast. This is the interview in its entirety.)

From 2007- Vincent Bugliosi discusses his book "Reclaiming History: The Assassination of John F. Kennedy." The book is widely regarded as the definitive analysis of the assassination and the many conspiracy theories that have sprung up in its wake.

In the book "More than we expected: Five Years with a Remarkable Child," David G. Robinson (who works for the New York Times) recounts what he and his wife experienced when one of their three sons was born with a serious congenital heart defect and lived only to the age of five. It is a captivating account of what this journey was like for them and their other two sons- and what they learned about life and love.

We preview Tuesday evening's "Sounds of Parkside" concert (7 pm in Frances Bedford Concert Hall) that will feature two ensembles: Parkside Range (directed by Ami Bouterse) and Parkside Mix, which is a brand new group (directed by Ayesu Lartey.)

Deanne Stillman, author of "American Confidential: Uncovering the Bizarre Story of Lee Harvey Oswald and His Mother." Stillman's explores some of the ways in which both Lee Harvey Oswald and his mother Marguerite both were driven by an insatiable hunger to achieve some sort of significance in a world that seemed to conspire against them at every turn.

From 2016- Camille Perri discusses her novel "The Assistants," which follows the exploits of five different people trying to be a part of the world of Hollywood as assistants to celebrities. Perri herself was, for a time, the personal assistant to Rosanne Barr.

From 2018- Curt Smith, author of "The Presidents and the Pastime: The History of Baseball and the White House."

We speak with best-selling author Tom Clavin about his latest book: "The Last Outlaws: The Desperate Final Days of the Dalton Gang." Clavin has written several fascinating books about the Old West (including "Tombstone," "Dodge City," and "Wild Bill.") This one focuses on the waning days of the Old West and an infamous gang that was, in a sense, trying to hold on to an era that was about to vanish.

Nan Calvert's November guest on the program is Shannon David Foust from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh talking about a class of hers called "Connecting with Nature" that she is offering to the general public.

Author and investigative journalist Max Mitchell talks about his book "Among the Bros: A Fraternity Crime Story." He chronicles was unfolded on the campus of the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC with a particular fraternity that engaged in widespread drug-trafficking among other misdeeds. He also talks about the insular presence of fraternities on many college and university campuses.

Part one: Dr. Dhaval Desai, author of "Burning Out on the COVID Front Lines: A Doctor's Memoir of Fatherhood, Race and Perseverance in the Pandemic." Part two: from the archives- Dr. Randi Berg, in a conversation from November 2020 on what it was like to be a doctor for three small nursing homes in the midst of such a pandemic.
