It was from the introduction to the book that I first learned about the young people who comprised The White Rose- whose story is the basis of my latest chamber opera, COURAGEOUS ROSE, which is performed for the first time tonight at Carthage College.

Max. S. Bennett, who has worked extensively in the field of A.I. (Artificial Intelligence), discusses his new book "A Brief History of Intelligence: Evolutions, A.I., and the Five Breakthroughs." Bennett contends that by better understanding how our own intelligence evolved and developed, we can in turn more wisely utilize and refine Artificial Intelligence.

Photographer David Alexander, renowned for helping to create some of the most iconic album covers and movie posters, talks about a collection of his photographs that has just been published titled "Pictures of Time."

We speak with Rachel Swartz , a member of the theater faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, about the latest installment in their Fresh Ink Musical Workshop Series. "Burn- A Folk Musical" is performed this weekend. Professor Swartz is the director of the production.

This is a conversation about my brand new chamber opera "Courageous Rose: A Story of Student Resisters in the Time of Hitler." The two guests, Lily Lourigan and Adam Blackwood, are students at Carthage and members of the cast. The opera receives its world premiere this Saturday night at 7:30.

We learn about the Kenosha Community Foundation from Executive Director Amy Greil and KCF Board President Dave Gertsen, as well as Tom Clark, fund advisor and committee member of the CBK Grant - CBK standing for Creativity by Kids, which is hosted by the foundation.
