Ep. 140: Corvus Cazier
08/11/2022 Duración: 01h34minCorvus Cazier I was born in Boise. The youngest of 4 kids. Raised there until i was 11 and we moved to Kaysville Utah. I have two older brothers and one sister who passed away in 2020. As a young child we were not allowed to watch much television but our parents gave us plenty of books. My brother Ryan and I challenged each other although we fought endlessly we loved making things with our hands from a very early age. When i was 8 and he was 10 we took apart our mothers vacuum cleaner and turned it into a hovercraft on the back patio. Insatiably curious, no lock was was a barrier to us. We could crack our fathers safe from 10 years old. We both tested off the charts yet flunked out of school. Unfortunately schools are not set up to teach gifted kids. Incredibly ADHD and prone to mischief I was a pain in the ass to my parents. But i learned from them that you can make anything if you're determined. When I was 15 my grandmother gave me a deer hide that was shit by her father when he was 80 years old. That was

HW Diaries Part 9: Fit You In My Mind
30/08/2022 Duración: 01h14minA breakdown of the writing, meaning, and hidden treasures in the ninth track of my new album "The Hallowed Wide" out on all streaming platforms now! The final piece in the Make It Hallowed portion of our journey is a surrender, just like its counterparts in the previous two chapters (Quicksand and Split). This time, we’re finally ready to surrender the last inkling that we can ever have any control over, or ability to predict how another person will behave. But rather than feeling suspicion and scarcity at this fact, we’re able to feel reverence at what trust actually means when removed from certainty. What’s more sacred than realizing that every individual is as complex and ever-evolving as yourself, that everyone is a main character in their own story, that you have no control whatsoever over anyone…and in that humble and weighted frame of mind, still deciding to attempt connection?

Ep. 132: Josh Gibson
09/08/2022 Duración: 02h10minTwelve years ago I graduated from the prestigious film program at Brigham Young University and began my career in filmmaking. At different times over the years I’ve had unique love affairs with each aspect of the filmmaking process—I’ve been a DP, a producer, an editor—I’ve played various roles in ideating and executing fiction narratives; and I’ve traveled to many countries as a documentarian. Although the skill sets and disciplines have varied, the common thread that binds them all together is passion—I just love film—that’s my foundation. I’m grateful for my various roles in the industry, because they’ve given me the one thing that foundations should offer—a solid place to launch from. Throughout my filmmaking journey I held a secret—although I was incredibly comfortable behind the camera (and was making a good career out of it)—where I really wanted to be was in front of the camera, metabolizing scripts, taking the words of another and bringing them to life in a way that impacts people the way I’

HW Diaries Part 8: Bleed in Color
04/08/2022 Duración: 01h05minA breakdown of the writing, meaning, and hidden treasures in the eighth track of my new album "The Hallowed Wide" out on all streaming platforms now! Bleed in Color is about so many things. It’s a grappling with one’s own moral compass—nurturing that little flicker of light after society/religion have done their best to snuff it out. It’s a grief for the time and energy we waste begging loved ones + the world to SEE ourselves with the love and acceptance we deserve (and for all of the beauty permanently lost in these battles). It’s an outpouring of joy at the beauty and wonder of our colorful human family. It’s a hope that someday we won’t have to bleed in order to be seen and valued. And, it’s a tribute to the creativity society’s “others” employ to teach the world how to see us, and to project our full vibrancy within world that works so hard to bury it.

01/08/2022 Duración: 02h08minDaxon Levine Dax Levine loves epic fantasy, but he didn’t expect to become a full-time professional Dungeon Master entertaining clients from all over the world. He started as a lowly theater kid and improv performer who leveled up by earning his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and his Master of Business Administration. In early 2020, he founded Dungeon Master Direct to professionally host online Dungeons & Dragons campaigns as a side hustle, but four months later he had to quit his day job to keep up with the accelerated demand for his brand of epic storytelling! He now manages an entire team of professional Dungeon Masters, teaches his skills online and at conferences, and writes novels on the side. He lives in Utah with an old border collie and his lovely wife. They are raising two children whom he hopes will also grow up to be professional nerds someday. www.dungeonmasterdirect.com

HW Diaries Part 7: Sweet Dream
21/06/2022 Duración: 40minA breakdown of the writing, meaning, and hidden treasures in the seventh track of my new album "The Hallowed Wide" out on all streaming platforms now! Sweet Dream is track #7 (the halfway point) in my fantasy concept record The Hallowed Wide. I wanted this to feel like a turning point in the story. Like a weird epiphany. The dream is so colorful and breathtaking, and suddenly we realize the world is breathtaking, too. The simple fact that every person is a whole separate person is a totally bizarre and fairly magical reality we too easily forget. Remembering how the stranger in the dream shatters into flowers…we can remember to see the brokenness of our fellow humans as its own kind of beauty—fractures of a wholly unique soul. I find that empathy gets a lot easier when I can manage to be genuinely curious about how completely individual each person is. And I can let it feel enchanting and sacred because it quite simply IS.

HW Diaries Part 6: Split
24/05/2022 Duración: 52minA breakdown of the writing, meaning, and hidden treasures in the sixth track of my new album "The Hallowed Wide" out on all streaming platforms now! Split is a song about an even deeper kind of surrender. At the beginning of the story, we surrendered a bit of comfort for the promise of a something greater…but here we reckon with the heavy grief of change and reinvention. This is the empty feeling you have when you’ve left behind the person you used to be, but you’re not yet sure exactly who you might become. You’re exhausted, and while you aren’t sure what is ahead, you’re only looking forward. You no longer have even the faintest desire to turn back. It wouldn’t be possible anyway.
