I've got a special summer announcement! • 10 Years of Podcasting - Reflections, Coming Up, Listener Q&A

    12/06/2025 Duración: 51min

10 years. If you told me back in 2015 that starting this podcast would change my life, I wouldn't have believed you. Back then, I was just looking for a different outlet other than blogging to continue learning and educating others about money. In no way could I have predicted that I'd end up interviewing hundreds of experts and authors from all over the world, leaving my 9-to-5 to start my own financial education business, and eventually releasing a bestselling book where I share some of the most vulnerable parts of my relationship with money I'd never told anyone before. What an absolutely amazing ride this has been. But it's not over yet. Although I'll be taking a break over the next few months to recharge and reflect on what I want the next 10 years of this podcast to look like, I'm not going anywhere. This podcast has given me so much, and I know it's given you so much too. We've been on this personal finance journey together after all, and there's so much more to explore. Thank you so much for all of you

  • How to Claim Your Financial Power in a Broken System - Author of Rich Girl Nation, Katie Gatti Tassin

    11/06/2025 Duración: 54min

For my final guest interview for Season 20 (don't worry, I've got one more solo episode airing tomorrow), I am so thrilled to have financial content creator and writer Katie Gatti Tassin on the More Money Podcast to talk about how to claim your financial power when it feels like everything is working against you. Because if you're a woman, the data doesn't lie. There are a lot of things making it harder to build wealth and achieve financial independence. There's the gender wage gap, unfair hiring processes and unconscious (or conscious) biases at every step of the corporate ladder, and financial advice that was developed for men by men.Katie has been very vocal about these topics on her Money with Katie podcast and newsletter, and she dives even deeper into them in her debut book Rich Girl Nation: Taking Charge of Our Financial Futures, which we explore in this episode. For full episode show notes visit jessicamoorhouse.com/434Follow meInstagram @jessicaimoorhouseThreads @jessicaimoorhouseTikTok @jessica

  • The New Rules for Becoming a Millionaire - Author of Future Millionaire, Rachel Rodgers

    04/06/2025 Duración: 53min

How can we empower Gen Z and even Gen Alpha to take control of their financial futures? As my guest Rachel Rodgers explains in her new book, Future Millionaire: A Young Person’s Step-by-Step Guide to Making WEALTH Inevitable, we need to throw out the old rules and create new ones for this very different world they've just entered.Rachel, who also wrote the book We Should All Be Millionaires, shares that we need to be more open and transparent about the real economic struggles young people face today, how side hustles are becoming an essential addition to any job, and how having a positive mindset and practicing self-care to avoid burnout and foster personal growth is key for any financial plan to work. For full episode show notes visit jessicamoorhouse.com/433Follow meInstagram @jessicaimoorhouseThreads @jessicaimoorhouseTikTok @jessicaimoorhouseFacebook @jessicaimoorhouseYouTube @jessicamoorhouseLinkedIn - Jessica MoorhouseFinancial resourcesMy websiteMy bestselling book Everything but MoneyFree resource libr

    29/05/2025 Duración: 56min

Dan Bortolotti, a.k.a. The Canadian Couch Potato and well-respected investment portfolio manager and financial planner at PWL Capital, came on the show back in 2022 and shared exactly what you need to do to set up the right investment portfolio for you so you can reach your goals, keep your costs low, and spend hardly any time on it per year. • The Power of Perseverance - Author of Moving Beyond Broke, Dasha Kennedy

    28/05/2025 Duración: 41min

I've got an incredibly inspirational guest for this episode! Dasha Kennedy, founder of the Broke Black Girl and author of Moving Beyond Broke: The Power of Perseverance in Personal Finance, shares her story of growing up low-income, surviving divorce and becoming a single parent, and learning about managing money on her own. On her personal finance journey, she realized she could help other women, especially Black women, in similar circumstances, which led her to create a massive community online where she now teaches others how to build generational wealth, increase your income, and ultimately move beyond broke once and for all.For full episode show notes visit jessicamoorhouse.com/432Follow meInstagram @jessicaimoorhouseThreads @jessicaimoorhouseTikTok @jessicaimoorhouseFacebook @jessicaimoorhouseYouTube @jessicamoorhouseLinkedIn - Jessica MoorhouseFinancial resourcesMy websiteMy bestselling book Everything but MoneyFree resource libraryBudget spreadsheetWealth Building Blueprint for Canadians course Hosted

  • From the Archives: Relistening to Larry Bates Expose What the Banks Don't Want You to Know

    22/05/2025 Duración: 41min

One of my favourite Canadian personal finance books to recommend is Larry Bates' Beat the Bank because it's exactly what every Canadian needs to know about how to advocate for yourself, not pay too much in fees, and navigate the complex and sometimes secretive world of finance. Considering Larry worked in finance for over 35 years, he knows what he's talking about and holds nothing back. This episode originally aired on January 22, 2020.To find the original show notes for this episode visit jessicamoorhouse.com/223Follow meInstagram @jessicaimoorhouseThreads @jessicaimoorhouseTikTok @jessicaimoorhouseFacebook @jessicaimoorhouseYouTube @jessicamoorhouseLinkedIn - Jessica MoorhouseFinancial resourcesMy websiteMy bestselling book Everything but MoneyFree resource libraryBudget spreadsheetWealth Building Blueprint for Canadians course Hosted on Acast. • Escaping Scarcity and Embracing Abundance - Author of The Money Catalyst, Leisa Peterson

    21/05/2025 Duración: 52min

Leisa Peterson first came on the podcast in 2020 to talk about her first book The Mindful Millionaire, so I'm thrilled to welcome her back to talk about her new book The Money Catalyst where we deep-dive into the topics of scarcity, abundance, nurturing your inner wealth and transforming your relationship with money. What's also very different about her new book is that it's written as a narrative instead of a more traditional how-to style. If you know me, you know I love personal finance books written like this (like The Latte Factor and The Wealth Barber), so if you're like me, you'll love this book too!For full episode show notes visit jessicamoorhouse.com/431Follow meInstagram @jessicaimoorhouseThreads @jessicaimoorhouseTikTok @jessicaimoorhouseFacebook @jessicaimoorhouseYouTube @jessicamoorhouseLinkedIn - Jessica MoorhouseFinancial resourcesMy websiteMy bestselling book Everything but MoneyFree resource libraryBudget spreadsheetWealth Building Blueprint for Canadians course Hosted on Acast. 08/05/2025 Duración: 44min

It's not about the latte! Most people (and money experts) misunderstand the true meaning of the latte factor, so who better to ask what it really means than co-author of The Latte Factor John David Mann. In this re-listen episode, we discussed what it was like writing this narrative-style personal finance book with bestselling author David Bach (The Automatic Millionaire), and the core messages of the book such as spending within your value system, setting strong financial goals, and never giving up on yourself, especially when times are tough. This episode originally aired on March 27, 2019.To find the original show notes for this episode visit jessicamoorhouse.com/190Follow meInstagram @jessicaimoorhouseThreads @jessicaimoorhouseTikTok @jessicaimoorhouseFacebook @jessicaimoorhouseYouTube @jessicamoorhouseLinkedIn - Jessica MoorhouseFinancial resourcesMy websiteMy bestselling book Everything but MoneyFree resource libraryBudget spreadsheetWealth Building Blueprint for Canadians course Hosted on Acast. • From the Archives: Relistening to Simone Stolzoff Explain Why You Don’t Have to Love Your Job

    03/04/2025 Duración: 42min

The saying "Find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life" is quite honestly a lie. Even if you find your passion and are doing a job you love, it's still a job. And sometimes it's not fun. Take it from me! I love working for myself, but it's still work. Not only that, I know so many people who have passions outside of work, and their job is just, well, their job. And that's okay, says author and now TED Talk speaker Simone Stolzoff in this interview I had with him in 2023. I hope you enjoy it and his book as much as I did. This episode originally aired on November 29, 2023.To find the original show notes for this episode visit jessicamoorhouse.com/383Follow meInstagram @jessicaimoorhouseThreads @jessicaimoorhouseTikTok @jessicaimoorhouseFacebook @jessicaimoorhouseYouTube @jessicamoorhouseLinkedIn - Jessica MoorhouseFinancial resourcesMy websiteMy bestselling book Everything but MoneyFree resource libraryBudget spreadsheetWealth Building Blueprint for Canadians course Hosted on Acast. • What's Really Going on with Real Estate Canada - Co-Hosts of The Canadian Real Estate Investor Podcast, Daniel Foch and Nick Hill

    26/03/2025 Duración: 55min

I rarely have guests on the show to talk about real estate, especially real estate investing, since there are so many sharks out there trying to sell some get-rich-quick scheme or there are just so many other real estate-specific podcasts already out there. But when I had the chance to meet Daniel Foch and Nick Hill at an event recently, I knew I had to have them both on the show to fill us all in on what's going on with the Canadian real estate market. Not only do they host The Canadian Real Estate Investor Podcast, but they also have years of experience working in real estate in a variety of roles as well. They also have personal experience with homeownership and real estate investing too.
