  • 300 – What You Need to Know in 2018 – My Opinion – Steve Lankford

    24/10/2018 Duración: 52min

Every 100 shows I take time to distill my thoughts on what I have learned or observed since the previous anniversaries. I have a perspective on the health industry that spans over 4 decades and I have seen the growth and the changes. I suggest that you revisit episodes 100 and 200 and read the blogs that I wrote at those times. It is interesting because much of what I covered then remains relevant today. As always a lot has changed, but much also remains the same. Changes can be challenging to manage but it also means new opportunities. In times of change, one has to understand and adapt to that change. In this podcast, I will give my overview of how my thinking has evolved and how best to move forward. 08/10/2018 Duración: 42min

Prior to opening his own practice, for five years, Dr. Pescatore was the Associate Medical Director of The Atkins Center for Complementary Medicine working directly with Dr. Robert C. Atkins. What we have learned over the decades from Dr. Atkins and Dr. Pescatore is that fats in the diet are not the cause of obesity. We have learned about the importance of the types of fats in the diet and that some fats are better than others. We learned that refined carbs and too many carbs is a major factor in the obesity epidemic. Dr. Pescatore's newest book The A-LIST Diet (2017) is designed to go beyond Atkins and Paleo diets. Dr. Pescatore improves on these popular diets by boosting protein, protein rotation, reducing inflammation and alkalizing the body. • 298 – Maintaining Intestinal Probiotic Balance

    05/10/2018 Duración: 40min

There is no product that has as much traction in the marketplace right now as probiotics. The understanding that probiotic bacteria have a profound beneficial effect on human nutrition has crossed over into the main stream. Probiotics can be found in many different products, even foods and beverages. One might even assume that all probiotics are good for human health and that you can take as much as you want. People assume that one probiotic may be equally good as any other product. Most people don't realize how much modern life can adversely affect your probiotic balance. • 295 – Is Your CBD Safe and Effective? What to Look For.

    26/08/2018 Duración: 50min

I have preached this many times: In order to find the best products, you have to first find the best companies. Companies who pass the tests and produce products you can trust is what you are seeking. This is perhaps the most important thing in this exploding market of CBD. How do you know which products and companies are worthy of your trust and dollars? Consumers assume CBD is CBD, without distinction except perhaps for milligram potency. But there is so much more to the story. In this interview with Stuart Tomc, we are going to discuss many of the important distinctions that tell the story of traceability, transparency and so on. We are using CV Sciences' PlusCBD Oil as our model. If you have followed our interviews on PlusCBD Oil then you already have a good foundational background. If not you can find those interviews here. 17/08/2018 Duración: 52min

Secondly he discusses some of the deficiencies in the medical approach of controlling blood pressure with pharmaceutical drugs and the failure of many doctors to consider the lifestyle factors. In this interview we will discuss how to maintain a healthy blood pressure by lifestyle choices before turning to pharmaceutical drugs. 08/08/2018 Duración: 40min

More consumers are seeking to boost protein consumption and whey protein is perhaps the most popular and for good reasons. We use protein powders in our home and we have found that whey protein is our preferred source of supplemental protein. One of the great advantages that we have now as consumers is that nutritional science continues to evolve and wonderful products based on that science are widely available. • 292 – Astaxanthin: Nature’s Most Potent Antioxidant for Skin

    28/07/2018 Duración: 39min

Skin is our largest organ and our first line of defense against environmental exposures like damaging UV rays, pollutants and microbes that can leave skin feeling dry and showing fine lines. Topical applications, like serums and creams, reach the surface of the skin but can’t get down into the deeper layers that contribute to skin’s elasticity and nourishment. Taking astaxanthin orally promotes healthy skin from the inside out. The post 292 – Astaxanthin: Nature’s Most Potent Antioxidant for Skin appeared first on Health Quest Podcast.

  • 291 – Nutritional Support for Auto Immune Issues – My Interview with Laurel Sterling

    20/07/2018 Duración: 53min

I have a strong personal interest in this topic. I have reported on this frequently because my wife, Debbie has been challenged with Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 40 years. In her case it was severe. She left her job as a teacher in 1989 and never was able to go back to work. She spent the next 15 years just trying to survive day to day by consuming 8 narcotic Darvocet doses each day. Those were tough days. So we personally know the challenge of auto immune breakdown. I have great empathy for those who suffer and their families. Our lives were turned around in 2003. There were two thing that changed her course in the most dramatic ways, drugs and nutrition. • 288 – The Nutritional Power of Green Foods – My Interview with James LaValle

    14/06/2018 Duración: 37min

Greens and sprouted foods have been a part of the human diet for thousands of years. The animals consumed for food also consumed green grasses and leaves. The insects consumed green plants. In the ocean, krill eat green algae, sardines eat krill and so on up the food chain. It all starts with energy from the sun becoming plants on the land and algae in the ocean. These greens eventually become the omega-3 fatty acids that are so important. This is one reason why grass fed beef is better than grain fed beef.  It's one reason why wild ocean fish are better than farm raised fish. It's one reason why we are encouraged to eat green foods. • 287 – The Healing Power of Topical Silver Gel – My Interview with Dr. Robert MacCuspie

    30/05/2018 Duración: 34min

I love Sovereign Silver First Aid Gel. We have used Sovereign Silver products in my home for nearly twenty years. It is the only silver product I use and the only one I recommend. This is one case where there is no other silver that I know of that meets this high standard. Most companies that sell silver products do not manufacture their own silver products. They are made by some other company. So you have to dig deep to compare silver products. Sovereign Silver has done the analysis of virtually every other silver product in the marketplace and you can literally see the difference. You can review all of this at the Sovereign Silver website. We are also considering nutrients for memory, brain acuity and concentration. There are often multiple factors occurring at the same time. If you have everyday stress in your life, you may not be sleeping well. If you don’t sleep well, it’s hard to restore your brain and this may affect your mood. This could lead to nervousness. Any of these can affect your quality of life. The post 286 – Nutrition for Your Brain – Part 2 – My Interview with Neil E. Levin appeared first on Health Quest Podcast.

  • 285 – Coenzyme B-Complex for Energy – My Interview with Dr. Audrey Ross

    14/05/2018 Duración: 43min

In this interview with Dr. Audrey Ross, ND, we will discuss the importance of B-vitamins in human health. We will also discuss the newer forms of B-vitamins known as Coenzyme B-vitamins. Dr. Ross will also discuss several nutrients that are surprisingly also forms of B-vitamins. This is a good example of making distinctions in the marketplace. Many companies don’t use any of the newer forms of nutrients. Country Life Vitamins uses all 7 of the currently available Coenzyme forms of B-vitamins and was one of the first companies to develop a Coenzyme B-complex supplement.  This is why I wanted to speak with Dr. Ross about the role of B-vitamins and the importance of Coenzyme B-vitamins. • 284 – Build Stronger Bones, Hair, Skin and Nails – My Interview with Peter D. Josling

    04/05/2018 Duración: 41min

There has been a huge growing interest in collagen supplements and with good reason. Your cells exist in a collagen medium. Collagen provide the supporting structure for tissue throughout the body. This is most easily observed in bone, skin, hair and nails. These are obvious points where collagen deficiency can be seen. These are also the areas where the research has revealed very specific effects. But don't lose sight of the fact that if collagen is deficient in the obvious tissues of the body, then this deficiency exists throughout the body. Improvements in skin, hair and nails can be considered a sign that collagen status is improving throughout the body. For example, blood vessels need collagen for support and repair. OSA stimulates collagen production in the body. The post 284 – Build Stronger Bones, Hair, Skin and Nails – My Interview with Peter D. Josling appeared first on Health Quest Podcast.

  • 281 – The Power of Dr. Ohhira’s Fermented Probiotics – My Interview with Ross Pelton

    11/04/2018 Duración: 47min

We have discussed probiotics many times here on HealthQuestPodcast.com. We all now understand that probiotics exert an important and powerful effect on human health. We also understand that humans have been consuming fermented foods for thousands of years. The advent of refrigeration and food processing has resulted in less fermented foods in the diet giving us less beneficial bacteria. One solution to this lack of beneficial probiotic rich foods is to consume probiotic supplements.  The post 281 – The Power of Dr. Ohhira’s Fermented Probiotics – My Interview with Ross Pelton appeared first on Health Quest Podcast.
