How are we to handle division in the church and in our world?

As soon as our eyes open in the morning we are on a mission for God!

We believe that God cares about each of us and each of our stories. Part of our stories is the homes that we were raised in and the parents that we have (or had). Parents have a profound impact on their children and the Bible speaks to how children in different stages of life can relate to their parents. In fact, there is one word that the Bible gives to help us know how to relate to our parents. What is that one word?

Parenting can feel like an overwhelming job, and we need to be reminded that we don’t have the resources and wisdom within ourselves to do it all. What we most desperately want as parents isn’t found in the next great vacation or the newest self-help book. It’s found in God. In every season of parenting (if we will lean in) God can teach us about himself. HE is the source we need to meet our children’s successes and failures with perspective and grace. He can parent us as we parent our children. Join us on Sunday morning to learn how!

think most parents ask questions like... Am I doing this right? Am I teaching my children all they need to know? Am I making the most of my time with them? As a default setting, parents love their children immensely, but few of us are confident that we are getting it right. There is hope for us as parents! The Scriptures give us some direction, but they also point to the God who is bigger than our biggest parent failures!

What is the point of marriage? It is for happiness? Is it a business transaction to ensure your needs are met? It it for having children and growing a family? There are some foundational principles that the Bible shares that lay the groundwork for a marriage that thrives.

Being a mom is not for the faint of heart! Unexpected twists and turns... unrealistic expectations and unimaginable love... trying moments and moments that you treasure... God can meet you in the midst of it all! He sees you! He knows your heart! He loves you!

At times the Bible speaks of heaven in descriptive terms that we can relate to... it is like a home, like a city, like a wedding banquet, like a treasure, etc. But more often heaven is referred to as something to hope for! The world has lots of troubles. The world has lots of distractions. The world requires me to work, pay bills, and provide food, clothing, shelter, etc. for my family, so why should I spend my time setting my heart (Colossians 3:1) and my mind (Colossians 3:2) on things above? “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” -A.W. Tozer Some imagine God as a myth or a fairy tale. Others imagine God as distant or ready to pounce on their every mistake. Still others imagine God as the most beautiful, loving, benevolent being in the universe. How you and I imagine God matters because it influences us, for better or worse, more than anything else we can think about. It shapes how we view ourselves, others, and our very purpose for existing. When you think about Heaven, do you picture God as kind of a cosmic bouncer at the door, deciding who is in or out, or do you think of God as the central figure of heaven?

If we were honest, we may only picture heaven as an unending church service – a never-ending sing-along in the sky... one great song after another... forever... and ever... and ever... and ever... and our heart sinks. That’s it? That’s the good news? That actually sounds kind of boring! Heaven will be anything but boring, and because heaven is real we can have tremendous hope!

The last half of the book of Acts features the message and ministry of Jesus continuing to go forward through the missionary journeys of Paul. Paul has faced beatings, imprisonment, dangers, and hardships untold. He has preached the Good News of Jesus, planted churches, defended the faith, and written letters to the churches to continue to teach and instruct them in The Way of Jesus. As we conclude our time in Acts, there is one more lesson for us to learn from Paul – and that last lesson teaches us how to finish well.

Life with God begins with discovery, excitement, and anticipation. Life with God is SO GOOD! But inevitably, some sort of “storm” comes our way – we experience the brokenness of this world in a loss, a betrayal, a disappointment, etc. and we have a hard time getting our bearings. We want to avoid the storm, go around the storm, have God take us out of the storm, but the only way out is through. The storm hurts. The storm will bring tears. The storm raises some very uncomfortable questions. Do you find yourself in the midst of a storm today? The Apostle Paul has some wise words for you.

Easter is the celebration of Jesus’ triumph over death and the grave! Want peace? Look at Easter. Want hope? Look at Easter. Want to know that your shame, your mistakes, and even death itself doesn’t get the last word? Look at Easter! Jesus relentlessly pursues our hearts and dares us to trust in Him!
