Life is short and entirely in the hands of God. Boasting about what we will do in the future is a waste of time and energy. Number your days and trust God for the future.

God is the final judge of human lives and behavior. It is wise to leave judgment in his capable hands. Speaking evil and stirring up dissention within the body of Christ passes judgment on God and his law.

Our evil desires are the cause of our fights and quarrels. The solution to our fights and quarrels is to repent of our evil desires and replace them with Jesus, who is more than enough.

The "pseudo-wisdom" from the world is false; true wisdom comes from God, begins in fear of the Lord, and is displayed... it’s shown forth in knowledge practically applied according to the will of God in a spirit of humility and gentleness.

Jesus heals a beggar blind from birth on the Sabbath and Pharisees refuse to see. Jesus' claim to bring sight to the blind and that those who claim to see will be blinded is as true today as it was then.

The tongue is a powerful weapon; it can build up or destroy. As Christians we must "tame" the tongue by guarding our heart, showing honor to one another, and removing those things from our lives which kindle the firestorms which can come...

James and Paul agree: Faith is primary in our justification, and good works bring faith to light. We are saved by the grace of God SO THAT good works may result.

"Faith that saves" differs from any other type of faith--it is grounded in both a knowledge and response to God. True faith leans into God.

The law of liberty under which we live as followers of Christ is that of mercy and grace made possible by his death and resurrection. We are to show the same mercy and grace to others as has been given to us.

Christ-followers are called to be blind to worldly distinctions and alert to the realities of both life, and life in the Spirit.

We don't simply hear the Word as Christians. We are to receive and respond to it. Evidence of true faith is in how we carry out our lives with others, in conversations and compassion.

Sin grows, and it is deadly. God is a great God and the giver of salvation. That will never change, because God never changes. Fight sin. Remain steadfast. Trust God.

Both poverty and great wealth bring pressure on the believer. It is possible to love Christ in both situations, but more difficult, generally speaking, for the wealthy. We should be wise with our wealth, but must trust in God above all things.

God is a generous giver. However, we have been called to be men and women of faith. God calls us to seek him wisely (with the wisdom he offers us freely), and to do so boldly and with confidence.

Trials in our walk of faith are not random nor meaningless. We are called to learn to accept them as purposeful, and rejoice in the maturity and positive outcomes they bring.

What do you crave? As Christians our greatest longing is to know and be with God, and He has provided us with His Word as the best way to do that. Crave God and His Word as a baby longs for its mother's milk.

God’s eternal plan of salvation will come to fruition. God will one day right all wrongs and bring all things to their consummation.

The second Person of the Trinity became man forever, so that we might know life forever through his gospel.

The Fall separated us from God and brought with it the curse of death. Yet, in the midst of the curse lies the promise of the gospel.
