We move onto Davie's playing career, which started back in 1979 at home town club Queen of the South before joining Junior side Kello Rovers. He then moved onto Ayr United, where he played under ex-Scotland Manager Ally McLeod. In a week where it seems like there is less to discuss we make a fine effort of talking about plenty. We kick off by talking about Celtic's win in Europe and what lies ahead for them. It looks like there may be movement with regards to Turnbull coming in from Motherwell after a long pursuit. Aberdeen and Motherwell both found out their opponents in the Europa League so we discuss their chances of progression. There is also chat with regards to Glasgow City and their Champions League tie. Wolfsburg were too good for them but when you consider the respective budgets and constraints that Glasgow City had going in to the game then maybe the result wasn't too surprising. The continuing transfer saga regarding Alfredo Morelos continues with him being dropped from the Rangers squad for their game against Kilmarnock. We discuss what this may mean going forward and whether it may impact his transfer fee or teams who are interested. A

He talks openly about the hours he and his fellow Directors put into restructure the business in order to stop the club from folding at the end of the season, and how they engaged with the local community to bring people back to Shielfield and get the club back on track off the pitch. At Euro ‘96, Craig Brown’s side wrote the latest chapter of the ever growing Glorious Failure novel by going out on goal difference. If only Gary McAllister hadn’t missed at Wembley and Patrick Kluivert not scored a consolation for the Dutch. Let’s just blame David Seaman! The guys go back in time to season 2007/08, one which their respective club sides feature prominently, particularly in Europe. To summarise, it was a season that gave renewed hope for our game. The Scotland National Team were punching well above their weight, winning in France and comprehensively swept Ukraine aside at Hampden and looked good for qualifying for Euro 2008. Ultimately, it ended in glorious failure once more after a cruel defeat by World Champions Italy in the final minute. Our domestic sides were performing well on the continent too, with THREE sides still in Europe after Christmas. Aberdeen thumped Copenhagen to reach the UEFA Cup last 32, and gave Bayern Munich a scare at Pittodrie before going out. Celtic reached the last 16 of the Champions League, defeating defending Champions AC Milan on their way. Rangers had the disappointment of dropping into the UEFA Cup,

After a brief stint at Swansea, he made his name with Falkirk under Jim Jeffries in a five year spell that saw two promotions and a Challenge Cup success.
