20 Years Of Nitro

It's the go home show for Hog Wild 1996 and the nWo is up to their old tricks, sending a limo to disrupt the show not once, but twice. The control room is invaded again, Jimmy Hart attempts to abscond with Woman, The Giant faces Sgt. Craig Pittman, The Booty Man is in action, and the palm tree finally makes it's presence felt as WCW wraps up their stint at Disney MGM Studios!

WCW Monday Nitro comes apart at the seams due to a mid-show attack by the nWo. They take out several wrestlers (including throwing Rey Mysterio into the side of a trailer) and devastate the card for the evening. As if that wasn't enough the nWo also purchases ad time and runs their own ad featuring Hogan and The Outsiders. Oh, and Larry Zybszko is very, very proud of a pun. All that and more right here where the big boys play!

A little bit more of the road to Sturgis (and the Hog Wild PPV) is traversed this week as Nitro emanates once again from Disney MGM Studios! The Four Horsemen have a main event match with Sting, Lex Luger, and Randy Savage but Ric Flair is nowhere to be found. Is he the fourth man to join the nWo? Eddie Guerrero and Psicosis square off in a strong match and Eddie's nephew Chavo makes his Nitro debut against Dean Malenko. Plus Joe Gomez, The Renegade, Alex Wright, and Jim Powers look bored, walk on the beach, and take their shirts off!!!

The big boys are back at Disney MGM for another week of Nitro action! With many of WCW's top stars on tour in Japan the nWo has chosen tonight to put the spotlight firmly back on Hollywood Hogan. Elsewhere Madusa makes her Nitro in-ring debut, Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit square off, and Colonel Robert Parker tries to navigate a sticky situation.

It's the night after Bash at the Beach and everyone is waiting to see how Hulk Hogan and his New World Order will impact WCW's flagship programming. How will Sting and Macho Man react to last night's betrayal? How will the Dungeon and the Horsemen feel about Hogan being a heel? That's right, after several months and the extremely successful Great American Bash have passed without Hogan around, he's managed in one fell swoop to make everything about himself again!

It has all been building to this. In a little under two months The Outsiders have made waves in WCW and tonight we see the culmination of their plan to invade and the shocking reveal of their third man. Dave and Tim wade into one of the most famous PPVs of the Monday Night Wars era, a shocking event that helped turn the tide firmly in WCW's favor. The undercard also features Rey Mysterio Jr, Ric Flair, The Disco Inferno, the singles debut of Mongo McMichael and so much more. The opening salvos of the Monday Night Wars have come and gone, the real fight starts now and we'll cover it all right here where the big boys play.

It's the go home show for Bash at the Beach 1996 and speculation is rampant about who The Outsider's third man could be. The Disco Inferno is in action, Harlem Heat defends their tag belts, Hacksaw Duggan describes a trip to the toilet, and the newest iteration of the Horsemen team together for the first time in a huge 8 man main event. It's the very last pre-nWo Nitro, don't miss it!!

In this episode the guys break down Monday Nitro from June 24th, 1996. We're just two weeks away from the Bash at the Beach and WCW is on high alert for more attacks from The Outsiders. Meanwhile the Horsemen are fighting wars on two fronts against the Dungeon of Doom and Randy Savage with his buddy from the Carolina Panthers, Kevin Greene. DDP is in action, Kevin Sullivan brings a jobber to meet some sandwich artists, and Disco Inferno has exciting news about his hot new single!

The boys look at all of the fallout from the 1996 Great American Bash and examine tdhe questions facing World Championship Wrestling. How will WCW respond to the brazen attack on Eric Bischoff? For the first time the boys review a full pay per view and it's a hell of a show!! After two straight weeks of Scott Hall interruptions Nitro is rocked by yet another invader, Hall's "big surprise." Meanwhile Sting feuds with everyone, Lex prepares himself to take on The Giant, Konnan actually gets some promo time, and Eric Bischoff has trouble making a joke about bicycles. WCW is still reeling from last week's shocking interruption by Scott Hall and he's once again set his sights on disrupting Nitro. In a huge main event tag team champs Sting and Lex Luger take on the Steiner Brothers! The Giant defends his WCW Heavyweight Championship against Ice Train. Ric Flair and Arn Anderson may have convinced Bobby Heenan to manage them at the Great American Bash but Mongo and Kevin Greene woo a manager of their own. Hacksaw, Regal, Scott Norton, Taskmaster and more right here where the big boys play!!

We're back!! And what an episode to come back to as WCW is rocked to its core by the appearance of a superstar from a rival organization in one of Nitro's most famous moments. A quick announcement from 20 Years of Nitro.

It's the final Nitro of the pre-Outsiders era and WCW prepares for the full time switch to two hours by presenting a 90 minute episode. How did they choose to fill the extra time? A 20 minute barn burner between Ric Flair and Eddie Guerrero! Also the Steiners take on Fire & Ice, the Faces of Fear face Sting and Luger, Arn Anderson has a match for the Heavyweight Championship against The Giant and Mean Gene Oakerlund has bad news for the Lord of the Ring, Diamond Dallas Page.

Determined not to miss his third title shot in a row, Lex Luger has camped outside the arena all night in order to face The Giant on tonight's Nitro! Elsewhere, Public Enemy locks up with The Steiner Brothers, Chris Benoit makes his first Nitro appearance in ages, Ric Flair tries to get a good match from VK Wallstreet, and Mongo McMichael attempts to soothe the Macho Man. Tonight on Nitro Lex Luger has a shot at The Giant's world title, but after missing a similar opportunity at Saturday Night will Lex show up this time? Macho Man locks up with Hugh Morris, Sting takes on Lord Steven Regal but Dean Malenko and Jushin "Thunder" Liger threaten to steal the show. Nitro swings for the fences this week with a brutal parking lot brawl featuring Lord Steven Regal and The Belfast Bruiser!
