Mary welcomes new guest Alana Arguello, author of "Unearthing Yoga's Ancient Roots". She serves on the board of The International Society of Christian Apologetics. Her book, "Unearthing Yoga's Ancient Roots"  take us on an in-depth tour of its dark history. Yoga is considered by many in the church as a grey area. When it comes to practices like this, which is Hinduism no matter how Christians justify or sanitize it, we must be extra careful to guard our hearts and minds - and choose wisely when bringing these things into the church. Is it a philosophy? Idolatry? Stretching exercises to keep our temple limber?  A question of balance, as the pop tune goes? Alana has carefully parsed out the dangers to the church regarding the roots, the branches and the fruit of this practice. Others say it is extortion, since the face of terrorism is not going to change in Israel regardless. The Gazans were dancing in the streets; was it because peace was finally coming, or was it about the hope of a continuation of struggles for their cause on an increasing level?  There are those who say never negotiate with terrorists, and yet are we placing their lives and cause before the innocent civilian? It's headline time again, another attempt to make sense of a lot of nonsense, at least from a worldly perspective. But eternally speaking, there is more sense to it all than you might think. Today we talk about the spiritual aspect of the wildfire disaster and what some Christians think is a helpful spin but it is not. Speaking for God on any given thing is above our pay grade but that doesn't stop people from doing it anyway. We also talk about Greenland, and how this appears to be nonsense as well, but it isn't. Still paying attention to events, or have you bailed out of sheer exhaustion? Understandable, but there is a price to paying attention and being able to tell others what is going on, and why it matters. There is a price tag on everything the Bible calls important so we will talk invoices and costs, counting and cutting our losses. Finally, those blood moons are back in 2025. Today, Scott Schara gives an update on the wrongful death civil lawsuit (2023-CV-345) for his daughter, Grace.  Grace was 19 and had Down Syndrome.  She was medically murdered by medical staff at an Ascension Hospital.  The doctors ordered a medication combination that euthanized Grace - Precedex, Lorazepam, and Morphine; and put an illegal Do Not Resuscitate order on her chart. He received his BA from Cedarville University, and his Masters of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary.The completion of his dissertation, Israelology: The Missing Link in Systematic Theology, was the culmination of 13 years of research for which he earned his Ph.D. at New York University in 1989.
