Psalm 1 speaks of two paths of life. The first path is the wicked way. On that one, a person always looks for satisfaction but never feels fulfilled. The obsessive thought is, "If I just had....I would be better." In contrast, the path of the righteous is like a tree planted by the Living Water which is forever joyful. John 4:13-14 continues the metaphor. The unfulfilled woman is at a well and meets her Living Water who is Jesus Christ. He tells her to drink it and will never thirst again. To remain nourished, Psalm 1 reminds us to meditate on God's Word. Read it every day and let God's word grow us like the the tree getting live water.
