Happy Holidays horror freaks! In this episode the gang gets back together to talk about holiday horror films along with a review of the movie Krampus. We also take Doug to School with the Howling. 

In this special episode of the Necronomicast, we once again venture down "Brian's Dark Alley" for an interview with an Omaha institution, Professor Howard Hamilton.  At 81 years young, he is the tour guide of the Omaha Halloween Cemetery Tour.  Even though you might reside in an area outside of Omaha, Nebraska, Professor Hamilton is an individual that will capture your imagination.  His exhaustive investigations of Omaha and its cemeteries provide unique insight into the dark history of the River City.  You'll hear about his fascination with cemeteries that began as a youth who yearned to be a funeral director all the way through his post retirement career as Omaha's congenial gentleman of the macabre.  Of course, we have to chat about axe murders too!  That's what we do in the Midwest!

Our pre-publishing efforts failed, so this episode is out after the first Haunted Hangover. Regardless, the second one is a week after this episode so take a listen as Laurie and Wayne chat with Scuba Steve of Hit That Dive about his annual Haunted Hangover tour. This tour takes guests to some of the most haunted bars in Omaha to learn stories, investigate, and see why these building have such a high spirited reputation. 

In this quick episode, Wayne and Laurie review the new movie Goosebumps while driving home from the theater. Overall, the movie was quite entertaining and garnered thumbs up from the hosts. Not just a kid movie, Goosebumps starring Jack Black has elements that will entertain both kids and adults whether fans of the book series or not. If you like movies like Monster Squad, you'll probably enjoy this film. Upset about moving from the big city to a small town, young Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets his beautiful neighbor Hannah (Odeya Rush). The teen is surprised to learn that Hannah's mysterious father is R.L. Stine (Jack Black), the famous author of the best-selling "Goosebumps" series. The Necronomicast crew tried out The Escape Omaha in an effort to show how our superior observation skills and puzzle solving abilities can make short work of this little game. We didn't make it out in time.  In this episode, we give our reactions to our experience at The Escape Omaha. A big thanks to The Escape Omaha for inviting us out. It was a truly fun experience and we are planning to go back to record an episode of us as we try to escape another room.  For those not familiar, your group is locked in a room together. The crew gets together to talk about Wes Craven and his horror legacy. We also debut a new segment, "Taking Doug to School" where we make Doug watch a classic or iconic horror film that he still hasn't seen. Listen to his review of iconic films that he is just now seeing for the first time. This time Doug watches "An American Werewolf in London" and reveals what he thought of this horror favorite.  We also talk about the films from Christopher R. Mihm, who we were booth mates with at Crypticon. Mihm makes retro-style monster movies inspired by the 50's. Right as we were packing up at Crypticon Tony Todd stopped by our booth and wanted to give us an interview! Since our regular microphones were packed up Wayne broke out his trusty iphone and recorded this interview. Tony Todd is a busy working actor and at the horror con was mostly known for his role in Candyman. Wayne was nerded-out because he was Worf's brother in Star Trek. This week The Necronomicast crew gets together to give their post con thoughts about Crypticon. Vendors, celebrities, costumes, metal, lucifer, hot rods, yelling dudes, drunk dudes, giant clowns, side shows, and of course the awesome staff made this a memorable event. We also pay homage to Wes Craven who passed recently. We talk about our favorite Wes Craven movies, what made them great, and plan a show surrounding his amazing body of work. 

We had a blast at Crypticon KC 2015! We took the whole crew down to Kansas City to man a booth at Crypticon. It was for many of our hosts the first time at a con, let alone a horror convention. We chat about all the vendors, events, and celebrities and in this first part of our Crypticon series we have a sit down with the guys from the Nerds of Nostalgia Podcast.  Nerds of Nostalgia on facebook  

On this special episode of the Necronomicast, the boys leave the coziness of the studio and venture out to investigate the infamous “Sallie House” in Atchison, Kansas!   Brian, Zip, and Doug are joined by their friend Harlan on an overnight investigation to uncover some of the mysteries surrounding the allegedly haunted house.  You’ll hear the tour guide and caretaker of the property go through the history of the town of Atchison and the home.  The crew also checks in throughout the night with reactions to the investigation.  Feel the fear and taste the beer with “Necronomicast On Assignment!”

In this episode Zip, Wayne, Brian, and Doug honor Shark Week by talking all things Jaws and other shark related horror films. From trivia tidbits of Jaws to the absurdity of Sharknado, the crew comment on a variety of shark topics and it gets a bit toothy! 

In this episode Brian, Wayne, Zip, and Doug welcome special guest Chef Paul Kulik into the studio to chat about Hannibal Lecter and the entire movie / television franchise.  Paul is an Omaha chef who owns The Boiler Room and Le Bouillon in the Old Market area of downtown. He's also a longtime friend of our host Brian and they talk about some of their antics as younglings, making home horror movies, sneaking into theaters, leaning back on chairs...you know, rebel stuff.  The group goes over the movies and (now cancelled) television show and of course Paul shares some of his culinary knowledge about cooking flesh and how the cannibal aspect of the Hannibal character is portrayed.
