Hey Westside Family! In the hustle and bustle of a large crowd, a small man stricken with a life of sin and shame saw his opportunity for forgiveness. Zacchaeus climbed a nearby tree to just see if he can get to Jesus, when suddenly, he called Zacchaeus out of the crowd. This story shows that the opportunity is here, the time is now. We have the choice to give over our lives to Jesus and to repay debts and settle scores in the name of the Kingdom. This Wednesday, Pastor Jonathan Rhodes speaks on the Biblical Virtues of Mercy, Anger and Patience. We hope you are blessed by what God has been speaking us through our pastors and leaders, and we pray this leads you into an even more intimate relationship with Jesus.

Often times it isn't the novelty of our initial experience with God that we struggle with. It's the long obedience in the same direction that gets us. Peter struggled with this too as we see in Matthew 14 and his battle with the winds and the waves to get to Jesus. This week we see how Jesus lifts us up from the chaotic waters and helps us forward in our Enduring Faith.

This Wednesday, Pastor Jonathan Rhodes speaks on being courageous as a Biblical Virtue. Juxtaposed by fear, courage cannot take root unless we lean on God to bring out courage in the midst of do or die moments.

Progression can sometimes be daunting. In an instantly gratified world, the slow moving, steady faith of the practitioner can seem mundane. Yet Yahweh is beckoning us into the world of the practice, allowing Him to work through us as we continue to work out our salvation. We are encouraged this week by Jake Wallace, our Youth Pastor, to become more like Christ by practicing behaviors that He taught and walked out.

In the middle of the stormy seas of life, we have a Rescuer and a Deliverer. When we a swarmed by chaos, we can look to Him in faith, rise up in His arms and take the waves head on. This week, Jonathan encourages us to not only allow God to rescue us from the storm, but to partner with God in His army to fight for our lives and the lives of those around us.
