Relationships Alter Destinies
11/06/2017 Duración: 54minThe people you choose to associate with, alter your life. That's why you need to be careful of who you hang around and be careful of who you associate with because you must guard who pours into your life. Don’t let just anyone come in and start placing things or speaking things into your life; guard your heart, guard your mind, guard your soul. Pastor John explores how the phrase “Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.” isn't just a repeated quote by well intentioned parents, but it is actually a Biblical concept that we all need to keep present.

When Division Becomes Multiplication
04/06/2017 Duración: 27minWe have this idea that if we all love Jesus, we are going to live in a Utopia where everybody gets along. There is no doubt that our relationship with Christ should increase our patience and we should be willing to sacrifice personal preference and defer to other brothers and sister, and yet there are going to be moments where deeply held convictions are going to clash.

Closing your ears to fear
28/05/2017 Duración: 47minFear is a reality for a lot of us. Fear often ends up being the driving force behind our decision making. While a life of "no fear" might be impossible, we can learn to look fear in the face and still take that step forward.

My Name Is Three - The Story of Tertius
21/05/2017 Duración: 47minThe 16th Chapter of Romans is the last chapter in Paul’s Magnum Opus. His greatest gift to us. His masterpiece. The book of Romans is the book of books in the Bible. More details are given in the book of Romans regarding the transformed Christian life and what practically living for Christ looks like in the real world than any other NT book. The 16th chapter is easy to overlook. It’s a list of greetings to people with hard to pronounce names. After reading through the weightiness of the first 15 chapters, Chapter 16, feels like an insignificant, easy to skip list of personal salutations. But if you skip it you miss looking through a window into the soul of the early church. It gives you a glimpse of what life was like when Christianity was in its purest form before it was stained by institutions, politicians, egos, heresies and religious corruption. Studying - not just reading Romans 16 - is like getting in a time machine and traveling back; and if we can go back, we can learn what the church is really sup

Mother's Day Weekend
14/05/2017 Duración: 51minFor this Mother’s Day weekend, Pastor Bryan Jarrett helps us look to the last chapter of the book of Romans…Romans 16. Most people who read this chapter rush through it because all they see is a list of hard to pronounce names that seem to have no relevance to rest of the Bible or to their lives. It’s a long list of Paul’s personal greetings…and if that’s all you see…you too…may miss the significance of the last few verses of Romans. These farewell greetings in Roman’s 16 give us a window into the soul of early Christian life. Paul refers to people from every strata of society. Paul greets slaves and aristocrats, business professionals and unskilled laborers, government officials and people he led to the Lord in prison…people who in his culture would have never interacted together in a cordial or mutually beneficial way…and yet…the cross of Christ and the community of their faith transcended their cultural taboos and well defined social lines. Many of these people had nothing in common but their decision to

It Ain't My Fault
07/05/2017 Duración: 48minThere's a major issue in our culture - an issue that has also horribly infiltrated the church. There's this idea that an individual's mistakes are always someone else’s fault. Everybody seems to have this need to blame someone else. Very few people are willing to take responsibility for their actions or own up to their wrongs. The unwillingness to be real and authentic with ourselves, with God and with people, entered our DNA when the first man and woman fell. It became a part of us, and since then we have been hiding, lying, running, blaming, and covering up simply to protect ourselves, our reputations, and our images. When you blame others you give up the power to change and there lies one of the greatest dangers of the blame game. If you're blinded into thinking it’s always someone else’s fault, you will keep perpetuating the problem and repeating the same mistakes.Visit our website for the video of this message.Northplace Church on FacebookNorthplace Church on InstagramPastor Bryan Jar

The Paradox of Wonder - The Wait - 04.29.17 & 04.30.17
30/04/2017 Duración: 56minPeople don’t normally talk about suffering and resurrection in the same breath but they belong together because such is life. The apostle Paul joined these two extremes in his letter to the Philippians. Here’s what he said: Philippians 3:10-11 TLB 10 Now I have given up everything else—I have found it to be the only way to really know Christ and to experience the mighty power that brought him back to life again, and to find out what it means to suffer and to die with him. 11 So whatever it takes, I will be one who lives in the fresh newness of life of those who are alive from the dead. The Paradox of Wonder - The Why and The Wonder - 04.22.17 & 04.23.17
23/04/2017 Duración: 51minThere are two ways to wonder…that’s why we’ve called this sermon and the series we'll be preaching the next few weeks…the Paradox of Wonder. One definition of wonder is to stand in awe. Another definition is to speculate…to question. People don’t normally talk about suffering and resurrection in the same breath but they belong together because such is life. 11 So whatever it takes, I will be one who lives in the fresh newness of life of those who are alive from the dead
