Mark Booker | Leviticus 19:1-2, 9-18 | God With Us: Be Holy | The wide range of laws in Leviticus 19 teaches us that there is no dimension of our lives that is not included in God's call to holiness. In this final message in a four-part Advent series, we examine the foundation of love, the specific case of care for the poor and vulnerable, and a general principle that undergirds our growth in holiness.

Mark Booker | Leviticus 18:6-23 | God With Us: Be Holy | We continue our consideration of being holy as the Lord is holy by looking at the call to holiness in our sexual lives. This is a challenging topic but one on which the church needs to speak courageously, clearly, and compassionately into the confusion of our culture. This sermon considers God's design for sex in contrast to the culture's dominant paradigm for sex, the specific instructions in Leviticus 18 regarding sex, and the implications of this for our lives.

This sermon examines the specific case of a woman's ritual impurity following childbirth in Leviticus 12 and points to the provision of purity in the Lord Jesus Christ. Even as we rejoice in God's provision, we are exhorted - in response to God's grace - to grow in purity more and more.

We consider afresh the holiness of God and the danger this presents to sinners. At the same time, we remember the mitigation of that danger in God's authorized and glorious pathway for approaching him: through Jesus Christ, our great high priest.

This sermon examines the provision of the high priest and the efficacy of the high priest and then considers the greater provision and greater efficacy our great high priest, Jesus the Son of God.
