As the Cavaliers and Warriors play Game 2 of the NBA Finals (and J.R. The 90th Academy Awards will be handed out Sunday, and maybe this time they'll give the right trophy to the actual winners on the first try!  Dre chats with Dave the Movie Expert about this year's ceremonies.  In an upset, for the second year in a row Dre saw a movie nominated for Best Picture, and he saw it first run in the theater.  In another upset, Mary J. It was a night of "Wow!"s at the 52nd Big Game.  The sleepy lead-up led to lowered expectations and an explosion of offense between the Eagles and Patriots, and after the smoke cleared, the underdogs from Philly were barking loud and holding the trophy.  Jay and Dre chat about what turned out to be one of the wildest, most unpredictable Super Bowls of all time, and what one game said (or didn't say) about Nick Foles, Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, Doug Pederson, and the future of football.   Theme music credit: "Anthemic" by Djmarbll   CC BY-SA 3.0

If your viewpoint of the NFL season in 2017 was that it was a little bizarre due to the lack of really strong top-tier teams, then Wild Card Weekend could only reinforce the bizarreness.  All four home teams dropped their contests ATS, with two of them bowing out straight up.  Jay and Dre review all of the strange ups and downs of the first playoff weekend, then they get you ready for the conference semifinals.  Saturday, the NFC champion Falcons try to overcome the expectation that they will handle the top-seeded Eagles with Nick Foles at QB, then newly confident Mike Mularkey leads his Titans to potential slaughter as they take on the defending champion Patriots.  Sunday, the Jaguars try to duplicate the pistol whipping they gave the Steelers in Pittsburgh in Week 5, then the Saints revisit the site of their Monday night opening week loss as they visit the Vikings.   Theme music credit: "Anthemic" by Djmarbll   CC BY-SA 3.0

It's playoff time, and it could be a wide-open race to the big trophy or another coronation for a league power.  How do Jay and Dre see it?  In their two-hour live show, they'll talk about Week 17 first, which set up the playoffs.  It wasn't meant to be for the Ravens, who lost their spot when they couldn't cover a Bengals slot receiver on 4th and 12 from midfield, clearing the way for the Titans and Bills to take the AFC Wild Card spots, but it was a winning effort by the Falcons that pushed them back into the postseason.  As for the full breakdown for this weekend's games, the boys give their picks for Saturday afternoon's typically ugly matchup (this year featuring two inconsistent squads in the Titans and Chiefs), which is followed by a potent battle between the NFC champs from Atlanta and the upstart Los Angeles Rams.  On Sunday, the team that sucks so bad that their attempt to tank got them a playoff spot, the Buffalo Bills, visit the tough but inexperienced Jaguars, then Round 3 of the NFC South rivalr
