He stands on the shoulders of his parents, Eric and Denise, who instilled a spirit of hard work and curiosity that drives him today. Eric and Denise grew up and met in Baltimore in the 1950s and 1960s. Eric grew up on one of the rougher streets in the city. He knew that education and hard work were the keys for him to advance beyond his station. Driven to get out of Baltimore, Eric actually hitchhiked from his home to study at the University of Maryland.

    Since 2007, the Asia American Center of Frederick has been hosting the Frederick Community Health Fair.  This annual event brings medical service providers, local businesses, organizations, and the people of the community together for a day of FREE medical services and consultations.We are honored the Frederick Memorial Hospital (FMH) has partnered with us over the years joining us as a major sponsor for this event.  Last year, we had over 350 volunteers serving approximately 1,000 guests and over 70 exhibitors!     Richard  Griffin has served as the director of Economic Development for the City of Frederick, Maryland since 2002. An accomplished urban planner and economic developer with 22 years of planning and economic development experience, Richard has worked at the city, county, and regional level. His previous assignments include having served as the executive director of the Downtown Frederick Partnership, Program Manager of Comprehensive Planning for Loudoun County, Virginia, Senior Regional Planner for the Appalachian Council of Governments, and on the staff of US Representative James McClure Clarke (11th NC). Mr. Griffin holds degrees from Western Carolina University and Clemson University. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Downtown Frederick Partnership, Fort Detrick Alliance, the Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc., and the Frederick County Workforce Development Board.

    For the past six years, Donnie Lambert and his daughter, Jessica, have orchestrated a now-beloved downtown Frederick tradition. Each November and December, they contract with the city to provide carriage rides through the streets, rotating the shifts between their four Percheron draft horses and two Belgian draft mules. This year, though, he’s been bewildered by a new presence downtown: a group of animal rights activists who say they want the carriage rides shut down. Michael and Stacy Boyer are married vegans and lifelong Frederick residents who have four rescue dogs. They are also staunchly opposed to Lambert’s carriage rides, describing them as animal abuse and exploitation.

    The organization Children of Incarcerated Parents Partnership was founded several years ago to help a special group of children in Frederick County, Maryland. Started by one person, it quickly grew to be an organization supported by ‘mid managers’ from a variety of non-profit agencies in Frederick, Maryland. Our belief is that children of incarcerated parents are a group of children who lack a voice of their own. Our work and our mission is to give them such a voice in the community, in the schools, and in their family. We are proud to say that we are now an official non-profit organization.
