Woo-Hoo!!! We had a great time at our first Orlando Beer Festival. We had some awesome beers and met some great people. Even the rain could not spoil our great time.

The Beer Is Fundamental crew went to Charleston, South Carolina to check out their craft beer scene. We had a great time at the breweries that we visited. We had the chance to check out the Charles Towne Fermentery, Two Blokes Brewing, Edmunds Oast Brewing, and Snafu Brewing. Listen to the great beers that we tried. Cheers!

Plastic cups and beer is not really recommended unless you absolutely have to. Well, there are many times when the plastic cup is your only option. Due to a recent occurrence, I was left with no choice but to drink a Duvel out of a plastic cup and it did not go well. However, with help from my friends, I came up with a solution. The 3rd Day of the Great American Beer Festival was all that and then some. We usually do the Saturday night session. But, this time, we did the Saturday afternoon session just to see what it is like. It is just as much fun as the evening session. So, we are glad that we made that choice. As with day 1 and 2, we had some awesome beers and met some awesome people. Also, just like day 2, the audio started acting funny. So, there is a blank space between %:15 - 6:15 minute mark. The second day of the Great American Beer Festival has begun. The beers are flowing and the people are here to receive them. We are drinking some great beers and speaking with some great people. One of which is Annie Johnson from Pico Brew. It was a blast interviewing her. We spoke with some brewers and many patrons to get their thoughts on craft beer and GABF. There is about a 50 seconds of dead space at the 17 minute mark. Someone pulled the mic plug from the recorder. However,it picks right up after that. This is a short episode right before our trip to this year's Great American Beer Festival. We talked about the things you should do if you really want to get the most out of a beer festival. Our beer for the evening was the Mama's Little Yella Pils by Oskar Blues. Please forgive me. I am fighting a cold. So, its a little choppy.

This is the after Hurricane Irma episode. She came through and rocked the state of Florida. But, she cannot stop BIF. In this episode, we discuss the proper glassware for certain types of beers. We check out the Le Petit Prince by Jester King Brewery and we also featured songs from the group, Political Animals. We added several college and NFL teams to our beer and football series. Cheers!

We had the opportunity to sit down with Richard Dine and Keith Lyons of the Dead Lizard Brewing Company. We talked about the vision for the brewery and how to create awesome cream ales. Of course, we talked about the beers that they have. We had a great time.

Its Football season once again. We love football at BIF. There are some great craft beers out there that we think are great for football games. This episode, we are beginning a series of where and what craft beer that we think you should have during football season for college football and the NFL. In this episode, we dive deep into Barley Wines by highlighting a great one. We have the American Solera Eng-Yak Barley Wine-Style Ale. This beer is aged in Cognac Barrels for 18 months. WE ARE GOING TO THE GREAT AMERICAN BEER FESTIVAL AGAIN. We provided a little info on the Great American Beer Festival and other beer news. We did it a little different this episode. We left out the fancy introduction, music, and news and got right into talking about great craft beer. In this visit to the NeighBEERhood, BIF sat down with Justin Hetu and Kyle Overstreet, who are the owners and brewers of the Fox and Admiral Brewing Company. We were privileged to be able to get right down into their thinking process of creating good beer and how to have fun doing it. We had a great time. We have been trying to get some beer from Modern Times for a moment. We were able to get our hands on some great beers from Modern Times thanks to one of our listeners. We reviewed the Ice Pilsner, the Oneida Pale Ale, and the Black House Coffee Stout. We featured three songs from one of our favorite artists, Rob Milton. Happy fourth of July everyone! We wanted to put out a short episode wishing everyone a fantastic 4th of July celebration. We highlighted the beers that some of you, our listeners, have stated that you are having this Independence Day. We are enjoying the Rome City IPA by Brew Hub and the Chocolate Sombrero Mexican-Style Chocolate Stout by Clown Shoes. This episode will have more music than usual because we want to put everyone in a festive mood while you’re kicking it with great beers, family, and friends. This week we are featuring the Secret Spot Anniversary Imperial Stout by Green Room Brewing out of Jacksonville Beach, Florida. This is a great brew and we think you will love hearing about it. We give a brief explanation on how we rate our beers. We also get into some beer news that is affecting the way craft beer is sold in some states. In this weeks podcast, we bring you the Saison Blanc by Barbarian Brewing that was brewed using the Pico Pro by PicoBrew. The Pico Pro is a countertop machine that literally brews beer by using packages called Pico Packs. These Pico Paks have the ingredients for the beer already installed in them. The Pico Packs are created using recipes from world renowned breweries like Rogue, Bayou Teche, Tall Grass, 21st Amendment, Elysian, Flying Bike, and many, many more.

Episode #2 features a collaboration between two great breweries in The Netherlands. Jopen Brewery and Brouwerij De Molen got together to create the Sin and Remorse Imperial Stout. It is a very good stout with some surprising features. During this episode, we discussed the release of Sierra Nevada's Beer Camp Around the World 12pk. There was some great beer news to spread around. We featured a song by Craz Dr. Grabow (Primitive Relaxation) and two time Grammy nominated music producer, Sam Peezy (Summer Song).

We want to welcome you to the first episode of the Beer Is Fundamental podcast. This is the first of many to come. We like to call our time here as being in the neighBEERhood.
