Hypnobobs is 100 years old! I mean, 100 episodes old! And to celebrate we're having a special three part investigation into a Lovecraftian classic! In Part One, we hear a reading of HP Lovecraft's seminal tale The Statement of Randolph Carter and discuss its themes and significance, while in Parts Two and Three Mr Jim Moon sets off to the story's location deep in the Everglades to discover what truth lies behind the story...

Rising once more from the grave, it's Part III of our series on all things living dead Zombi Zombi! This week a busy Mr Moon delves into the archives of old time radio horror. We talk of the legendary Man in Black and the classic series Appointment With Fear, and heard an episode of its parent show Suspense which features Mr Henry Hull, star of The Werewolf of London in an audio adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's The Pit And The Pendulum. Then we visit old London town to visit Orson Welles in The Black Museum and hear of the crimes of John George Haigh, a man dubbed both The Acid Bath Murderer and The Vampire Killer!

This week Mr Jim Moon presents a highly zarjaz Beginners Guide To Judge Dredd. In this thrill-powered episode, we'll uncover the history of British comics, detail the creation of 2000 AD, explore the the world of Judge Dredd, and finally round off with a spoiler-free review of the brand new movie Dredd 3D! This week, Mr Jim Moon embarks on a perilous journey to hunt down the infamous Croglin Vampire. During the course of our investigations into this notorious case of British vampirism, along the way we'll meet such luminaries as occult scholar Montague Summers, the legendary Man In Black himself Valentine Dyall, and Sir Francis Varney, hero of epic Penny Dreadful Varney the Vampire! The truth is indeed out there... and it has fangs!

This week, Mr Jim Moon dusts off the great tome marked 'Favourite Childhood Monsters' and explores the world of the vampire. We examine the legend of the Croglin Vampire in depth, and along the way discuss the diverse nature of the undead, the difference between fictional blood-suckers such as Count Dracula and the actual vampires of folklore, and somewhat bizarrely, the wrappers of 1970s sweets...

This week in the Great Library of Dreams, Mr Jim Moon delves into the case-files of that most unusual and unlikely detective, that little priest Father Brown. This time we hear the curious case of The Queer Feet as recounted by Mr GK Chesterton.

Mr Jim Moon continues his survey of Batman at the movies, examining Batman Returns (1992), Batman Forever (1995) and Batman & Robin (1997). Plus there’s bonus swearing, I mean reviewing with a look at Catwoman (2004) and the shocking revelation of who really killed the 90’s Bat-franchise… 

In the latest installment of Bat-history, Mr Jim Moon traces the long road, that stretched out over decades, that brought Batman to the big screen. And in this episode, we discuss and dissect the the fruits of that long journey Tim Burton’s Batman (1989), starring Michael Keaton in the eponymous role and Jack Nicholson as the Joker.   

This week we once again turn the floor over to Mr Gary ‘Horsehead’ Stead for another chapter of his memoirs – How To Get Ahead In Ghost Hunting! In this second part, entitled The Attic chills are guaranteed! And afterwards Mr Jim Moon talks a little on the subject on EVP and foolishly tries out a live experiment…

Concluding our history of werewolvery, Mr Jim Moon tracks the progeny of the Universal Wolf Man, tracing the influence of Mr Larry Talbot on lycanthropic cinema. Under the light of the silvery moon, we hunt down The Mad Monster, The Undying Monster and The Wolves of Malveneur, hear the Cry of the Werewolf and witness the Return of the Vampire, before uncovering his descendants are alive and well in the modern age in the shape of An American Werewolf in London and The Wolf Man remake.  

Continuing what is turning into Werewolf Month here in the Great Library of Dreams, Mr Jim Moon rambles at great length about the 1941 Universal classic The Wolf Man starring Lon Chaney Jnr. Along the way we learn about the history of the Universal Monsters and just where the werewolf's vulnerability to silver actually comes from...  

This week Mr Jim Moon delving into the audio archives of the Great Library of Dreams to bring you two contrasting werewolf tales from the eerie world of old time radio! First we have The Werewolf from The Weird Circle, a radio play based upon The White Wolf of the Hartz Mountains by Captain Frederick Marryat and then W Is For Werewolf from Dark Fantasy.

Continuing our explorations of the history and mystery of the werewolf, Mr Jim Moon recounts the earliest manifestations of werewolvery in cinema and  attends the birth of the modern lycanthrope with a visit to Universal’s The Werewolf of London (1935) starring Henry Hull.  

Continuing our investigations in werewolvery, Mr Jim Moon traces the development and metamorphoses of werewolf lore down the ages, from the shamanic mists at the dawn of time to the blood-soaked pages of the Penny Dreadfuls!

To mark the passing of legendary author Mr Ray Bradbury, Mr Jim Moon raids the audio archives of the Great Library of Dreams to unearth old time radio adaptations of two of his classic tales, ‘Kaleidoscope’ from The Illustrated Man and ‘Mars is Heaven’ aka ‘The Third Expedition’ from The Martian Chronicles.
