In part 2 of this series Cylvia will discuss the light side and the dark side of the Force and the light and dark that resides within each of us. We’ll explore some key truths such as the liberation of realizing we are more than the bodies we wear, our only saviors our ourselves, and dogma is always limiting, even when it’s Jedi dogma. This week: Rev. Cylvia Hayes shares, “Divine Will, Free Will – Is God or Karma a Tyrant?”. Virtually every major religion advises us to follow God’s will, or to seek a higher will. But what does that mean exactly? How do we know what God’s will is? Do we need to sacrifice to follow God’s will? Is it God’s will that there be violence and suffering in our world? Is it God’s will when a loved one passes? How does all of this jive with the notion that we also have free will? How do we attract it and what does it do for us? In this empowering talk Cylvia discusses the difference between willfulness and willingness and explores being willing as an action rather than a passive acceptance. Each of us moves through life viewing the world around us in a particular way based on a set of beliefs we’ve developed and assumptions we’ve accepted. In addition to our individual worldview we are immersed in a collective or societal worldview. When facing challenging circumstances or witnessing the challenges loved ones may be facing, holding intentional space for the possibility of Divine Order makes room for miracles to flow. Divine Order is the intelligence of the Universe expressing through each of us. All species have a built-in intelligence that enables them to adjust their environment, complete a cycle of growth, and fulfill their roles in the great web of life. These human lives can be messy and complicated but even in the midst of the mess Divine Order is available. We can free ourselves from stress and worry as we gain skill letting go and letting God and allowing the grace of Divine Order to flow to and through us.
