Scarred lungs from smoke inhalation didn’t stop Jason Czora, 46, a firefighter with 21 years of service in Buffalo, NY, from heaving his way across hilly terrain for more than 1,600 miles on an epic bicycle ride. He embarked Aug. 17 from the Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial in Colorado Springs, Colo., to pedal back home and raise $10,000 for the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and its mission to help firefighters' and military families.

While there are many teams that cross the state of Iowa during RAGBRAI, the Iowa C.O.P.S. team is one that rides with a deeply serious and personal purpose: to recognize and honor the extraordinary contributions of law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. Two of the team's members join T.J. to talk about what it's like to meet the families of these officers along the route and ride with fellow men and women in blue from around the country.

Once again Iowa City welcomes bike racing fans from around the globe to the first stop on the 2017 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup circuit. TJ interviews Josh Schamberger, president of the Iowa City/Coralville Convention and Visitors Bureau, to discuss the fun and excitement that comes to the Hawkeye State from Sept. 15 to 17 at the Johnson County Fairgrounds. Lance Armstrong comes on the show to talk about the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) with Nascar drivers Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth and Dirt bike racer Ryan Dungey. A RAGBRAI veteran at this point with 7 (or 10) treks across Iowa under his wheels, Armstrong has brought along Johnson and Kenseth for the past two years. RAGBRAI virgin Dungey joins the crew as they all talk about what makes the ride special to them.
