Sony's recent patent for the PS5 Controller (we're calling Dualshock 5 for now) shows a controller mostly in tact with the Dualshock 4 with the exception of the lack of a light bar moving forward. For traditional PS4 backwards compatibility, this offers no issues but Sony's assertion that PSVR will be fully backward's compatible with PS5 leaves questions on how that's accomplished. Death Stranding has long been speculated to go to PC, but this last week we got confirmation that it was indeed happening. Fallout 76 recently announced a subscription service in the way of Fallout 1st, aiming to bring players who opt in private worlds, unlimited craft material storage, and more. The service's existence was already being criticized before it was discovered that many features didn't even work as intended. PlayStation has been a little less prevalent in the news cycle this past year than the rest of the generation and while late in the generation with PS5 about a year away, it still feels more quiet than the PS3 leading into the PS4. 2K Games recently released a new trailer for the upcoming NBA 2K20 that showcased a host of micro-transactions and gambling mechanics within the games MyTeam mode. In a time where publishers, even EA, are trying to avoid or minimize micro-transactions along people fighting back against the random luck based loot boxes that can cause addiction this comes off as tone-deaf to what gamers and people at large want.
