Nottingham Forest 4-0 West Bromwich Albion: The 1865 Match Report
19/04/2022 Duración: 37minA thumping victory for Steve Cooper's Reds, as they bounced back from Good Friday defeat against Luton Town. Forest completely controlled most of the match, and goals from Johnson, Yates, Colback and Surridge grabbed the points. Jack Colback's effort has gone viral as a goal of the season contender, but did he really mean it? The visitors were bad-tempered, and although Steve Bruce grumbled about the incorrect award of a throw-in, it is difficult to overstate how poor his tactical setup was, even before Darnell Furlong's early red card for two bookings. The second half was not exciting to watch, but again, the Reds were in control as the Baggies barely got into the Forest half. Rich Ferraro and Steven Toplis review the match, with a view from the away end from Louis of the Baggies Podcast. Luton Town 1-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report
15/04/2022 Duración: 32minThe referee and his team took centre stage at Kenilworth Road, as a controversial penalty and some baffling decisions left Steve Cooper furious. Forest had decent chances but Grabban and Zinckernagel will both feel that they should have done better, while Djed Spence's goal was wrongly ruled out for offside (yes, the rules are odd, but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't be enforced). Luton suffered themselves, as Sonny Bradley received a second yellow card when Sam Surridge should have been called offside. Rich Ferraro is joined by Luton supporter Ryan McCole to get a view from the opposition, and Tom Newton also joins the discussion, fresh from the away end at Kenilworth Road. Nottingham Forest 2-0 Birmingham City: The 1865 Match Report
10/04/2022 Duración: 32minSteve Cooper's Mighty Reds ascended to third in the league, albeit in a match overshadowed by a serious-looking injury to visiting keeper Neil Etheridge. Forest took an early lead with Keinan Davis' blasted finish, although that only told part of the story as the build up evoked memories of the Chuckle Brothers and the Isley Brothers. After Etheridge was stretchered off midway through the second period, the mighty Scott McKenna sealed the points with a header from Jimmy Garner's corner. Rich Ferraro and Baz review the match, with a view from the away end from Tom of the Blues Focus Podcast. Rich and Baz then dare to dream - with five consecutive victories, favourable results elsewhere, and second-placed Bournemouth having a tricky run-in, can the Reds really challenge for automatic promotion? Nottingham Forest 2-0 Coventry City: The 1865 Match Report
07/04/2022 Duración: 31minAnother hard-fought victory from the Reds, perhaps lacking in style and panache but making up for that with grit and determination, against a decent Coventry team and a baffling referee. After the match, Steve Cooper claimed that he wasn't aware that this win put Forest in the play-off places! However, he did comment on the need to keep up the momentum, not only in results but also playing style and game plan. Steven Toplis and Baz review the match, with a view from the away end from Glenn of Sky Blue Fans TV. Blackpool 1-4 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report
03/04/2022 Duración: 33minA real statement victory from the Reds, as they were ruthless in the first half against a Blackpool team who will have had their own play-off ambitions. An early deflected effort by Philip Zinckernagel was added to by two brilliantly taken goals from man-of-the-moment Brennan Johnson. We also have kind words to say about the whole team, but there is a special mention for Scott McKenna, who is still supposed to be injured! Rich Ferraro is joined by Adam, who had just returned from his day out at the seaside, as we discuss all the action, the post-match reactions from the two managers, and we are pleased to offer praise to the referee! "Five Year Plan": The 1865 Nottingham Forest Podcast, March 2022
28/03/2022 Duración: 01h02minAs we get to the business end of the season, Rich Ferraro is joined by Steven Toplis, Tom Newton and Baz to reflect on Forest's current prospects. In the wake of good league form and after an unfortunate cup exit, do Steve Cooper's squad have enough physical and mental resources to gain a top six finish (or better)? Also this month, we talk about the wonderful atmosphere at the City Ground, with guest contributor Stuart Levy, and talk about a few off-the-pitch issues, such as the Fans' Q&A sessions and a new appointment to the club's board of directors. All this, and we have a game of Guess That Red, Jeremy Davies' 1865 Sketch, and another competition courtesy of our sponsors The Terrace: listen to the podcast and email your answer to forestramble@gmail.com by 6pm on Friday 1st April. Nottingham Forest 0-1 Liverpool: The 1865 Match Report
21/03/2022 Duración: 42minGutted but proud, Steve Cooper's Reds gave Liverpool a run for their money and could have snatched a result. In the tightest quarter-final of the weekend, Forest had enough chances to win this but were thwarted by a well-taken goal by Diogo Jota, just after Philip Zinckernagel should have put the Reds in the lead. Jota probably was onside, and the challenge by Allison on Ryan Yates probably wasn't a penalty, but it didn't stop the accusations about LiVARpool; as Cooper said, it would have been interesting to see what decisions would have been made at the other end of the pitch. Rich Ferraro is joined by the Maradona of the Midlands and Liverpool fan Johnny Shah to review the match itself, with special mentions for Yates and man of the match Joe Worrall; we also comment on the cost and value of Liverpool's team, especially after the quadruple substitution, and there are a few words about Jurgen Klopp. We also ask Tom Newton and Baz to join us to reflect on the match - could we really have won it, and what doe

1865 Podcast Extra: Forest vs Liverpool preview
18/03/2022 Duración: 19minYou might have noticed that there is a match on Sunday! Although the league is surely Forest's priority, most Reds fans are looking forward to pitting their wits against one of the best teams in the country. Recorded just after Forest's victory against QPR, Rich Ferraro and Tom Newton look forward to the game, discussing the importance of momentum, possible team selection and comparing Klopp and Cooper in terms of playing and coaching style. We are also delighted to be joined by Neil from Liverpool podcast The Anfield Wrap to get a view from the opposition; can we expect Klopp to pick a strong team, and how much will home advantage play to Forest's advantage? As we say in the podcast, may the best team win! Nottingham Forest 3-1 Queens Park Rangers: The 1865 Match Report
17/03/2022 Duración: 38minA blistering comeback from Forest was kickstarted by a thunderbastard from Djed Spence, as Forest eventually stteamrollered a stubborn and niggly QPR side. In a match that was another great advert for the Championship, despite a torrential downpour and a soggy pitch, Forest showed their ability throughout, but it was the visitors who took the lead against the run of play when Andre Gray ran between the lines, converting Ilias Chair's excellent throughball from a tight angle. For all that Forest were trying to overcome the shirt pulling and constant niggles, it needed something special to get the Reds back in the match, as Djedmond Spence conjured up a swerving shot into the top corner. After that, it still could have swung either way, but the forces of footballing good prevailed as Ryan Yates' deflected effort from a corner hit home, and then Brennan Johnson sealed the victory after sub Cafu's effort was well-saved following a counter-attack by subs Joe Lolley and Sam Surridge. Nottingham Forest 4-0 Reading: The 1865 Match Report
13/03/2022 Duración: 27minTwo goals from Keinan Davis set Forest on their way to an emphatic victory against relegation-threatened Reading. The Reds couldn't have made a better start, with Joe Worrall's throughball, Djed Spence's cross and Davis' turn and finish putting the home team in the lead after just 17 seconds! However, the rest of the first half was flat at best, with Ethan Horvath having to make a crucial save and Forest players struggling to play on the front foot. Max Lowe's enforced substitution enabled a tactical tweak, with sub Cafu playing in the hole, enabling Jimmy Garner to drop back into central midfield, and The Reds reaped the benefits in the second half. All the goals were tidy, with Yates and Surridge putting the seal on the victory, but it was the second goal that got everyone talking: Davis received the ball with his back to goal 25 yards out, and in one move he turned and shrugged off three men, before approaching the box and curling home a fine finish. Power, pace, confidence and finesse - this goal was Coll

Nottingham Forest 2-1 Huddersfield Town: The 1865 Match Report
08/03/2022 Duración: 31minIn another televised match that will get casual football fans wanting to watch the Championship, Forest progressed to the quarter finals of the FA Cup at the expense of play-off rivals Huddersfield. After a strong start, Sam Surridge scored a brilliant goal which was wrongly disallowed for offside, and there were echoes of the league match against the Terriers when Tom Lees headed home barely two minutes later. The Reds looked shell-shocked but regained their composure, with Ryan Yates' lungbusting run leading to Surridge's emphatic finish to equalise, and the home team then took the lead before half-time when Yates' strong header made the net bulge. The second half was slightly more scrappy but still combative, as sub Danny Ward warmed Ethan Horvath's gloves twice, while Spence and Garner both put the ball over the bar when it looked easier to score. Overall, a good performance and a great result, cementing a quarter final at home to Liverpool. Rich Ferraro and Tom Newton discuss the match, with special men

Sheffield United 1-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report
06/03/2022 Duración: 29minThis was a great advert for The Championship, as Ryan Yates' stoppage-time goal rescued a point for the Reds, who had trailed to Billy Sharp's 70th minute header. In truth, Forest should have wrapped it up before the Blades scored, with decent chances for Davis, Zinckernagel and Cook; Brennan Johnson will also go back to practising penalties at the training ground as his first half spot kick was easily saved by Wes Foderingham. It was 70 minutes of wondering how we hadn't scored, and then 25 minutes of fearing that we would get battered; but good saves by Ethan Horvath, along with great tackles by Cook and Zinckernagel (yes, really), and a poor pass from Daniel Jebbison gave the Reds the opportunity to snatch a share of the spoils right at the death. Rich Ferraro and Baz discuss whether this was two points dropped or one gained. 01/03/2022 Duración: 57min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. After an up-and-down few weeks at The City Ground, with outstanding victories against the likes of Derby, Blackburn and Leicester in the cup, but a disappointing defeat at Cardiff and a lacklustre display away to Preston, before the Reds got back on track against Bristol City at the weekend. Rich Ferraro is joined by Tom Newton, the Cycling Defender and Steven Toplis to discuss all the events of the last month, including the Bournemouth postponement and the Reds' highs and lows. We also have another fabulous competition: listen to the podcast and answer our Depeche Mode themed question. Nottingham Forest 2-0 Bristol City: The 1865 Match Report
27/02/2022 Duración: 25min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. After a little bit of a grind in the midweek draw at Preston, Forest were back on form against a Bristol City side who would have been grateful to only lose by two goals. A first half shot by Brennan Johnson and a second half effort by Jimmy Garner saw the Reds take the points, but it could have been so much more. Rich is joined by Baz to discuss the contributions of the forward players, provide a status report on Ethan Horvath, and to wax lyrical again about Spence and Lowe as attacking full-backs. We also hear from Matthew Withers from the Bristol City podcast 3 Peaps In A Pod, with a view from the away end. Preston North End 0-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report
23/02/2022 Duración: 26min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. It was hardly a vintage match and it was definitely not a great performance from the Reds, as apart from a bright opening, they were outplayed by a high-pressing Preston team. Forest were struggling to make their game work and, apart from a penalty shout in the first few minutes, and a dangerous cross from Djed Spence at the death, there was a lack of postive action. On the other hand, Preston will feel as though they should have taken their chances and claimed all the points. As Steve Cooper pointed out, on these nights, you are grateful for the point; however, some fans were questioning the tactical choices and lack of substitutions made by the gaffer. Steven Toplis and Tom Newton discuss the match in our 50th podcast of the season; hopefully a win against Bristol City will make the 51st feel a bit happier. Nottingham Forest 2-2 Stoke City: The 1865 Match Report
13/02/2022 Duración: 27min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. We predicted that this would be a tough match against an in-form Stoke team, and so it proved. Forest were second best in the first half, but held on, and actually took the lead before the hour mark when sub Sam Surridge played a ball out to the left wing, and Max Lowe's peachy cross was converted by the onrushing Brennan Johnson. The visitors equalised through Josh Maja, and a combination of the woodwork and Brice Samba kept the Reds in it. The last 5-10 minutes were another story though; just as Steve Cooper made his last two attacking substitutions, Samba got himself stupidly and deservedly sent off for cuffing Josh Tymon around the head. Joe Worrall took the gloves and his first duty was to pick the ball out of the net from Lewis Baker's penalty. However, Forest just keep going, and when Jimmy Garner's free kick hit the bar, Scott McKenna got his head to it and Ryan Yates converted from close range to rescue the point.

Blackburn Rovers 0-2 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report
10/02/2022 Duración: 33min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Another enjoyable away day sees Forest move into the Championship playoff places for the first time this season, continuing the remarkable turnaround Steve Cooper has masterminded since arriving at The City Ground. A first-half goal from James Garner and a penalty from Brennan Johnson in the closing minutes of the match secured a 2-0 success for the Reds, who took the game to Blackburn with a mixture of skill, guile and determination and were rewarded with the points against a side who are well in the mix for an automatic promotion spot. Steven is joined by Tom and they talk about the brilliance of Keinan Davis, Garner's reward for his fine recent performances, the warrior-like spirit from the back three and more examples of how Cooper is simply getting it right as Forest boss. Nottingham Forest 4-1 Leicester City: The 1865 Match Report
07/02/2022 Duración: 29min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. An extended match report on a special day at the City Ground as a first-half salvo saw the Reds blitz Premier League Leicester and progress to the Fifth Round of the FA Cup. Goals from Zinckernagel, Johnson, Worrall and Spence gave the home team a comfortable cushion that was only briefly threatened when an error from Brice Samba saw Kelechi Iheanacho pull a goal back just before half-time (the pigeon was awarded MOTM for the away team). Rich Ferraro and Baz talk through the goals, the performances, Warrior Worrall and also the less savoury moments such as the violence of Leicester fans in town and at the ground. We also talk about how this result will mean little unless the newly beefed-up squad can keep picking up the points in the League, starting at Blackburn on Wednesday. Transfer window special: The 1865 Nottingham Forest Podcast
06/02/2022 Duración: 47min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Nottingham Forest's transfer window saw new players arrive at the very beginning (Keinan Davis, Steve Cook), middle (Richie Laryea) and end (Sam Surridge and Jonathan Panzo). Just as importantly a number of players left, including Joao Carvalho, Lyle Taylor and Carl Jenkinson, along with more recent acquisitions Rodrigo Ely and Mo Drager. However, the highest profile transfer activity was the retention of Brennan Johnson, with the Reds resisting a big money offer from Brentford, and also Djed Spence for the rest of the season. Rich Ferraro is joined by Steven Toplis and our very own new signing, the Cycling Defender to discuss incomings, outgoings and retentions. We also discuss the loss of skipper Lewis Grabban due to injury, and whether the last month demonstrates that the club are now being more strategic with how they are building a squad. We don't even have time to discuss the FA Cup tie against Leicester or forthcomin

Cardiff City 2-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report
31/01/2022 Duración: 29min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. A bad day for Forest at Cardiff as they failed to turn up, conceding a cheap early goal and never really recovering. Jordan Hugill was given the freedom of the Reds' half after just six minutes and made no mistake, and more lax defending in the second half saw sub Isaak Davies score a second goal after the hour mark. Realistically, the match was over, although a late chance for Xande Silva and a stoppage-time consolation from Keinan Davis offered brief glimmers of hope. Steve Cooper acknowledged that Forest only had themselves to blame and it was possibly the Reds' worst showing since the gaffer took charge. Also worryingly, senior players Steve Cook and Lewis Grabban succumbed to injury, with the skipper taking the brunt of a robust challenge from Will Vaulks and being helped off the pitch in some pain. In this extended match report, Rich Ferraro and Steven Toplis discuss the Reds' poor performance, a couple of questionab
