Nottingham Forest 2-1 Blackpool: The 1865 Match Report
17/10/2021 Duración: 19min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. At long last, Forest managed to get that elusive home win in the league, at the expense of a Blackpool side who have found their feet in the Championship. Goals from Brennan Johnson and Lewis Grabban earned the victory, despite the Reds being pegged back by a Jerry Yates equaliser following a mix-up between Djed Spence and Brice Samba. Rich Ferraro is joined by Baz to discuss the feelgood factor at this match - "it was a proper fight", as well as the contributions of Philip Zinckernagel, Jack Colback and Ryan "Pirlo" Yates, as Steve Cooper made tactical tweaks and the right substitutions to see Forest over the line (and once again, knew all the right things to say after the match). 11/10/2021 Duración: 01h02min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. It feels like a lot has happened in the last month: Chris Hughton was sacked, Forest got their first win of the season under Steven Reid, and Steve Cooper has joined with a charm offensive. Rich Ferraro is joined by Baz, Tom Newton and Steven Toplis to discuss tactics and formations, the impact on the players, and Cooper's willingness to engage with the fanbase. Speaking of fans, we also discuss what supporters really want from following their team, with reference to the NFFC Supporters' Trust and the current situation at Newcastle United. Birmingham City 0-3 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report
02/10/2021 Duración: 15min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Another three goals on the road and another three points; Forest made it three away wins on the spin as they ran out 3-0 winners over Birmingham City at St. Andrews. In an entertaining game played on a wet and rainy afternoon, it was Forest who took the lead on 11 minutes as Lewis Grabban thumped home a brilliant 20-yard strike. The hosts threatened to fight back as they caused some scares inthe Reds defence with set pieces, but it was a set piece of their own that saw Forest double their lead, as Ryan Yates headed home a corner on the half hour mark. In the second half a swift, flowing counter attack saw Forest extend their lead further after nice work from Grabban and Philip Zinckernagel released Djed Spence down the right, where the wing-back thumped a finish into the roof of the next for 3-0. Birmingham responded with chances of their own but Brice Samba held firm in the Forest goal, producing a stunning late save fro

Barnsley 1-3 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report
30/09/2021 Duración: 14min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Steve Cooper took his Forest side to South Yorkshire to face Barnsley - a team who've inflicted damage upon the Reds in recent years - and the new head coach picked up his first win since taking charge with an enjoyable 3-1 success. Forest shaded the first half but it was Barnsley who led on 20 minutes, as Cauley Woodrow converted the penalty he'd won after being hauled down in the box by Tobias Figuereido. Forest fought back in the second half, though, with the introduction of Lewis Grabban for Figuereido and a switch to a 4-2-3-1 formation providing the catalyst for goals. Grabban released Brennan Johnson down the right-hand side and he squared the ball across goal to provide Philip Zinckernagel with a simple tap-in, before Johnson made it 2-1 with a neat finish soon after. Grabban later got his goal after Alex Mighten's trickery saw him get away down the left before sliding the ball across for Grabban to convert. Fores

Nottingham Forest 1-1 Millwall: The 1865 Match Report
26/09/2021 Duración: 13min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Following the first win of the season last weekend, Steve Cooper took charge of Nottingham Forest for the first time as Millwall visited The City Ground. The new head coach started with a point, earned thanks to a second-half fightback after Matt Smith (again!) found the back of the net for the visitors in the first half. Max Lowe equalised for Forest on 52 minutes, picking up the ball from Scott McKenna before firing a cross into the box and also into the back of the net, as it soared over Bartosz Bialkowski in the Millwall goal. The on-loan left-back might not have meant to score, but his goal secured a decent point in the circumstances. Cooper kept faith with the 3-4-2-1 system that worked well in the win at Huddersfield and named an unchanged team. While the Reds might not have hit the heights they did a week ago in South Yorkshire, they did enough to suggest they'll be a more entertaining side to watch this season. S

Steve Cooper arrives: 1865 Podcast Special
22/09/2021 Duración: 43min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Another season and another new manager joins Nottingham Forest - or should we say head coach? After the departure of Chris Hughton last week, former Swansea City boss Steve Cooper has been appointed as head coach at The City Ground. The Welshman, who led the Swans to back-to-back playoff finishes in the Championship, takes charge of the Reds after their first win of the season at the eighth attempt; the 2-0 victory at Huddersfield Town on Saturday under the caretaker stewardship of Steven Reid. Rich Ferraro is joined by Baz, Steven Toplis and the Maradona of the Midlands to examine the latest change in the Forest dugout. As well as touching on where it went wrong for Hughton, the panel look at Cooper's pedigree, his style of play and they ask if Forest have finally implemented some form of "strategy" through Cooper's appointment. Tom Morgan from Total Swans TV also joins the team to provide his view on the appointment of Co

Huddersfield Town 0-2 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report
19/09/2021 Duración: 21min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Lo and behold, a win! Forest collected three points for the first time in nearly six months, as the managerless Reds scored two goals and kept a clean sheet away at Huddersfield Town. It was noticeable that Forest were trying to get higher up the pitch, and playing three centre backs seemed to give a better balance to the team. In this dogcast, Rich Ferraro and Baz compare and contrast the tactics and performance to what we saw under Chris Hughton; we also hear from Brady from Huddersfield podcast And He Takes That Chance with an opposition fan's view of the high-vis Reds. Nottingham Forest 0-2 Middlesbrough: The 1865 Match Report
16/09/2021 Duración: 21min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Forest fell to their sixth defeat in seven Championship matches as Middlesbrough ran out 2-0 winners on another night to forget at The City Ground. Despite a reasonably bright start, Forest fell behind in the 24th minute to a clinical finish from Andraz Sporar before a mistake by goalkeeper Ethan Horvath presented the ball to Onel Hernandez for a simple tap in 18 minutes from time, wrapping up the points for the visitors and keeping Forest bottom of the table. In this match report (recorded before Chris Hughton's sacking) Baz and Steven reflect on what went wrong for the Reds on the night, an atmosphere that was far from enjoyable as well as what the future holds for Forest and how they can turn their season around. Nottingham Forest 1-2 Cardiff City: The 1865 Match Report
12/09/2021 Duración: 19min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Forest's woes continued on Sunday afternoon as they were beaten 2-1 by Cardiff at The City Ground, sealing the Reds' worst start to a league season for 108 years and piling futher pressure on manager Chris Hughton. Lewis Grabban netted his first goal of the campaign in the first half as he converted debutant Max Lowe's low cross into the penalty box, following a neat link-up between Lowe and Brennan Johnson down the left-hand side. However, Cardiff turned the game around in the second period as their direct style told; a brace from Rubin Colwill seeing the visitors claim all three points. The result leaves Forest rock bottom of the Championship and in our match report, Steven and The Maradona of the Midlands review another disappointing defeat. They talk about a lack of spark both on and off the pitch, familiar frailties coming back to haunt the Reds and where this latest defeat leaves Hughton. Subscribe via your podcast prov

"I thought we would be talking about Chris Wilder": The 1865 Nottingham Forest Podcast, September 2021
06/09/2021 Duración: 01h57s1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. It has been an awful start to the season for Nottingham Forest, with an equally crazy transfer window. We are here to discuss transfers and the conspiracy theory that the players we have signed are more suitable for a back three with wing backs. Did someone say Chris Wilder? In addition, we do talk about Chris Hughton, and whether his tactical rigidity is going to cost him his job. We also have a competition for you, and another edition of our Forest quiz, Guess That Red! Rich is joined by Jeremy Davies, Steven Toplis, Baz, Tom Newton and 1865 debutant Nick Miller, football writer for The Athletic. Like what you hear? Derby County 1-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report (extended edition)
29/08/2021 Duración: 35min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. An extended match report as Forest picked up their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw at rivals Derby County. After Tom Lawrence put the hosts in front in the first half, Forest responded in the second and were rewarded seven minutes from the end, as Brennan Johnson netted his first senior goal for the Reds with a well-taken strike. In this extended edition of the 1865 Match Report, Steven Toplis is joined by Cory and Jason from Derby podcast Rams Review. They talk over a missed handball, a missed stamping and examine the performances of the two sides, as the Rams were left to rue missed opportunities and the visitors staged a fightback which might just have eased the pressure on under-fire Forest boss Chris Hughton. Nottingham Forest 0-4 Wolverhampton Wanderers: The 1865 Match Report
25/08/2021 Duración: 05min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. "Why doesn't he play the kids? They cannot do any worse than the first team." Tonight, against a Wolves team costing nearly £100m (with more on the bench), Forest's kids gave a brave account of themselves but were overpowered by Premier League opposition. The sad thing is that, on some counts, you cannot win - some fans were asking why Hughton didn't play more first teamers! The thing we are all agreed on is that we won't score unless we actually manage some attempts on target. Tom Newton reports from the City Ground. Stoke City 1-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report
21/08/2021 Duración: 10min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Another defeat but worst of all, another non-performance where the Reds barely threatened the Stoke goal. Josh Tymon's goal settled the match and the Forest fans continued to make their voices heard as the pressure piles on Chris Hughton. Ben Rowley from The YYY Files joins us to offer the home fans' perspective, and it doesn't reflect well. Afterwards, I was invited to appear on Talksport2's Game Day Phone-In and shared some of my thoughts. Nottingham Forest 1-2 Blackburn Rovers: The 1865 Match Report (extended edition)
19/08/2021 Duración: 26min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. An extended match report as Forest suffered their third consecutive 2-1 league defeat, in another match marred by poor defending from set pieces, and a lack of cutting edge up front. What was most interesting was that the grumbles on social media became very real, as fans openly questioned Chris Hughton's tactics, selection and substitutions, and even (astonishingly) chanted for former gaffer Sabri Lamouchi. In this special episode, Steven Toplis reviews the action and has an in-depth conversation with Ryan Hildred from Rovers Chat about how Rovers won the game, and just as importantly, how Forest "beat themselves". Ryan is surprised to hear the hostility towards Chris Hughton, but he was also amazed at how poor Forest were. Then Baz gives us an overview of why it just isn't working for Hughton at Forest, and whether there is a comparison with Jose Mourinho's career. Forest 1-2 Bournemouth: The 1865 Match Report
15/08/2021 Duración: 13min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. After the kids did us proud against Bradford in the League Cup, it was back down to earth with a bang today as ten-man Bournemouth held out to inflict a 2-1 defeat on the Reds. Despite some promising moments, if the truth be told. Forest did not do enough to get back into this match and Chris Hughton has taken some criticism for not being offensive enough with his subs. Tom Newton reports from the Forest perspective, and we also hear from Jonathan Sparkes from the Cherries Red Army channel, with an away fans' view. Like what you hear? Nottingham Forest 2-1 Bradford City: The 1865 Match Report
12/08/2021 Duración: 05min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. THE PORTUGUESE PRINCE IS BACK! Well, that was the headline. Of course, it was *only* Bradford, but Forest fans will have taken real heart from the battling qualities, skill and guile shown by the young Reds in a match that was still a step up from what most of them will have experienced. Particular plaudits go to Fin Back and man of the match Tyrese Fornah, who was wonderfully humble in his post-match interview. The Maradona of the Midlands reports on a pleasing night as fans returned to the City Ground, and the Reds overcame injuries and nine minutes of stoppage time to hold out. Coventry City 2-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report
09/08/2021 Duración: 13min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. A disappointing start to the season as Coventry took the three points with a last gap goal. After a decent first 45 minutes, the Reds ran out of steam and paid the price for poor defending as they conceded first an equaliser, then a stoppage-time winner to a Coventry side buoyed on by their home fans. Tom Newton reports from the Coventry Building Society Arena, and then we are joined by Joey from Coventry podcast the Nii Lamptey Show, to dissect the action, and how much of a difference it made to have fans back in the ground. 1865 Magic Moments Part 5: Stuart Pearce
31/07/2021 Duración: 04min1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. We begin our pre-season countdown by looking back at some of our favourite memories of following Forest through the years. These aren't necessarily great goals or great matches - just something that has stuck in our minds. Today Jeremy thinks back to an important moment in his formative years - a rare trip to the City Ground, sitting in the away end, when Forest and England skipper Stuart Pearce took matters into his own hands and scored a diving header to liven up an uninspiring match against lower-league Hereford United.
