  • Iva Kravitz - The Design Community, Marketing and Cautious Optimism

    20/12/2016 Duración: 49min

Today’s guest on the show is Iva Kravitz. Not too long ago Iva and I were working together on a Landscape Architecture project in Philly. And once filming on that project wrapped we headed to Amtrak and caught a train back to New York. While we were sitting there I asked Iva if she's be down to be a guest on the show. Even though we were clearly exhausted she was still up to kick it. Thanks again Iva. So that being said... we are on a train, there is a lot of background noise, horns and from time you'll hear the train conductor make a few announcements. And thats all good because that's what taking this show on the road is all about. In this episode we talk about the design community, Marketing, PR, Advertising, growing up in a Norman Rockwell painting of a town, Park Slope eats, cautious optimism and much much more. Please enjoy. More About Iva Kravitz  Official Site - http://www.theivaagency.com/ Links to the Stuff they Talked About New York NeighborhoodsChelsea Park Slope Books Charlotte’s WebFast Food

  • Phoebe New York - Getting Arrested, Putting Up Stickers and Wheat Pasting

    08/11/2016 Duración: 01h32min

One of my favorite things to do is walk around New York just checking street art from block to block. On my walks I’ll catch the latest murals, graffiti, stickers and wheat paste art. If you don’t know what wheat paste art is, wheat paste is a gel or liquid adhesive made from wheat flour or starch and water. That glue thats usually made in a big bucket is then used for paper artwork and then pasted on smooth walls. You’ve probably seen it and ya don’t even know it. Think Shepherd Ferry and his project Obey Giant, then theres Adam Cost, or Swoon, theres Bunny M, uhh there is also JR of the Inside Out Project. Today’s guest is Libby but most people probably know her from her street art, Phoebe New York. Phoebe can be found in the form stickers and wheatepaste art throughout the streets of New York. I met up with Libby in Washington Square Park and she walked me through the good, the bad and the ugly of being a street artist. In this episode we talk about shooting film photography in Paris, her love of vintage b

It will be difficult. But I want people to see if a nobody like me can come to the streets of New York and several years later, not ten years later within 5 years has his work exhibited around the world and to be up here in SCOPE that anybody can, anybody can make a difference, everybody can make a difference.” –TMNK The contemporary artist’s message is truly inspiring and uplifting, he used his art and his voice to encourage those around him to master their gifts and honor the ideas of being your brothers & sisters keepers.
