The guys talked Big South Conference, new scheduling for Conference USA, and five games for this weekend, including Oklahoma vs. TCU and Tennessee vs. Kentucky.The Big South Conference wasn’t regularly lined until this season, but it’s one of the few we haven’t talked about yet. The guys dug into the teams and ranked them to see who will likely participate in the NCAA Tournament and looked at some spots for the rest of the regular season. Conference USA’s hybrid schedule takes a new twist and it is a big weekend in college hoops with a top-five matchup and some big bubble decisions.

Christian had strong takes on his favorite fights and also gave us analysis on the other bouts on the schedule.

On the Thursday February 14 edition of BangTheBook Radio, host Adam Burke was joined by professional handicapper Brad Powers from BradPowersSports.com for this week’s Powers Picks segment. Adam and Brad talked about preparing for the 2019 CFB season, the NBA All-Star Game, and perceptions of top teams and their college basketball futures odds.Bill Connelly’s college football season previews are rolling out, well in advance of other preseason mags, so those are required reading for all college football bettors. Brad talked about what he takes from those and also about how they affect his prep. The NBA All-Star Game yields some betting opportunities, but the majority of the rest of the segment was on college hoops, as the guys discussed the NCAA Committee reveal to uncover overrated and underrated teams. They parlayed that into a talk about futures betting and this weekend’s card.

On the Thursday February 14 edition of BangTheBook Radio, host Adam Burke was joined by Tony George of Doc’s Sports for this week’s Picks & Predictions segment. On the Wednesday February 13 edition of BangTheBook Radio, host Adam Burke was joined by Wes Reynolds for this week’s Wednesday Wagering segment. The guys discussed how to handicap the highly-ranked teams in light of the dog days of winter and also broke down the Genesis Open at Riviera Country Club.This was one of the stronger segments with Wes that we’ve had this season, as the guys talked about motivations for “fat and happy” teams and also touched on some of the situational spots with the big boys of college basketball. They also had a strong golf segment for the Genesis Open with an elite field and a lot of good betting considerations on the board.

The guys dug deep into the ACC, Missouri Valley, and touched on Ralph’s top situational and technical plays of the week.The ACC is top-heavy, but don’t forget about the middle of the pack and the upset potential that those teams have based on situational spots or their talent levels. Adam and Ralph checked in on teams like Florida State, Clemson, and NC State with that in mind. As a result, host Adam Burke got together with Christian Pina of the Sports Gambling Podcast and our BangTheBook UFC writer to talk about UFC 234. It isn't a great card, but we made a great segment out of it by discussing the different betting tools and strategies that are at your disposal within this market. The guys talked about some arbitrage opportunities and some parlay betting options for the fights.Christian did share his top fight opinions and broke down the main event between Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum and also talked about the other fights on the card, including Israel Adesanya vs. Anderson Silva and Smilin' Sam Alvey's matchup.

They also took a look at the Big Ten in college basketball to see what’s wrong with Michigan State and surveyed the rest of the conference.

The guys looked at yesterday’s Super Bowl and recapped some of what we saw before looking ahead to the offseason to see which teams could make a significant push.The Patriots grabbed another title over the Rams, who looked bad, but had another successful season. After assessing those two teams, Adam and Joe looked at some of next year’s hopefuls and evaluated what teams can do over the spring and summer months to put themselves in a position to be in Miami next year for Super Bowl LIV.
