The Republican-led House Foreign Affairs Committee yesterday held another hearing yesterday on the disastrous US withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. Of all the finger-pointing and blame-sharing, one thing is never asked: why was the US in Afghanistan in the first place? Why is it so easy to get into wars but nearly impossible to get out? Sen. Lindsey Graham traveled (again) to Ukraine to try and whip up more war fever. A disturbing report from the Government Accountability Office shows that 70 percent - and maybe more - of the outrageously expensive, over-budget F-35 fighter jets are not capable of conducting combat. Yet Washington continues to rattle sabers at Russia and China. Also today: Pentagon not bothering to track weapons sent to Ukraine, and US considering MORE military aid to Israel as "incentive" for lower civilian casualties...

The government cannot protect our freedom by taking away our freedom. It cannot shield us from harm (real or imagined) by censoring the truth and ripping away our privacy. It cannot “battle” communists by acting just like the communists. It cannot protect us from corporate fraud by mandating the use of their fraudulent products. The government is supposed to follow the law, which is the U.S. Constitution, not ignore it and give it lip service only when it's politically convenient. The Bill of Rights is not a joke. Those rights precede the government itself, and do not come from them. The primary job of every good citizen is make sure that those rights remain uninhibited.

Yesterday's House vote to either force the sale of Tik Tok or ban it entirely from the US is the most dangerous and anti-American act since the passage of the PATRIOT Act. The law will give the US president SOLE AUTHORITY to determine which businesses can and cannot operate in the United States. It is a full government takeover of our basic liberties.
